Feb. 5th, 2020 06:46 pm1. I just hurt. My shoulders and arms and hands ached today. And I'm tired. Have not been sleeping at all well, which is just adding to my general sense of malaise.
My job and workplace are high stress and it's just getting worse. Plus, add the commute, which is stressful in its own way, on top of it.
Last night I had a nightmare about work.
And today, on the way home, I couldn't get myself to pick up my contacts. It involved getting off the train, walking five blocks, picking up the contacts, going back to the subway/train, waiting for it to arrive and hoping for a seat. I just couldn't. Besides it's cold. It's gray. With dwindling light. I chose to stay on the subway and read or tried to read -- still having troubles committing to a book.
Jumped through six to date. Nothing is holding my interest. Listened to music with the noise cancelling head-phones, which make the commute a bit more endurable.
So tired. I decided to quit the bible study group -- this is my last month. I just can't with work/commute stress. They aren't meeting tonight anyhow, because the facilitator (whose a retired psychiatrist) wanted to protest The Doofus Who Won't Go Away acquittal. There's protests nationwide. I'm very frustrated, anxious and depressed about the continued existence of he who shall not be named aka The Doofus.
2. Well, Disney won the bidding war to bring the recorded original Cast version of the Broadway Musical Hit Hamilton to the big screen for a cool $75 million.
It airs in theaters in October 21, 2021. I don't know why they are pushing it to 2021. I'd air it in November 2020 with the election. But no one asked me.
3. Stephen King is quitting Facebook.. And yet, he's still on Twitter which is a hundred times worse.
It's hard to take people who make proclamations about leaving Facebook seriously, when I know they are on Twitter. And I know Twitter is worse. I'm on both. You can avoid the ads and the asshattery on FB, there's private groups. But you cannot avoid it on Twitter. Also Twitter, as one person on FB put it -- tends to be misogynistic and racist and often spirals into that.
4. Off to watch my soap opera, and possibly Bob Hearts Abishola, and maybe try to write...although I'm horribly stuck.
