So, I decided to take a break from the pandemic - as best as one can take a break from it - and fixed myself pancakes, meditated, and watched a really bad episode of American Idol. My god. The singers on that are truly bad. I was bored and everyone sounded the same. (I may check out the Eurovision flick that is coming to Netflix or Amazon Prime this summer.) Actually, I was dozing off during the American Idol episode. I woke up tired, am tired still.

Anyhow in the midst of this - mother called to inform me that my brother and his wife are also "under the weather" and they think they all have it. Read more... )

I took a nap after talking to my mother. I'm tired today for some reason or other. But not in as much pain as I was in the last couple of days. Neck was bothering this morning, so the nap did help. I decided to forgo the walk today and just stay home.

After the Governor's lecture about how you can get COVID off stainless steel surfaces like-that (snaps fingers), I decided to wash the clothes I was wearing off and on this week in the sink - the ones that are hand washable and can be hung dry. Not everything can. But I do have a lot of items that actually work better if I do that. It's weirdly meditative. And I actually have a big enough sink to accomplish it in. One of my co-workers told me in an email - that she thinks of me often - usually when she's doing laundry.
I wonder if the Governor realizes he's scaring me off of doing laundry in my building? Most likely not.

Anyhow, after washing out a few clothes, having a large salad with strawberries (strawberries are very good in salad by the way), walnuts, cucumbers, radishes, green onions, and some popcorn. I fixed myself a spiked selter (it's "White Claw Lime Spiked Seltzer - all it has is Seltzer, Bitters, and Lime Juice - about 5% alchol content and less than 2% sugar).
And watched per Petz's recommendation - the old 1990s movie Center Stage with a young Peter Gallagher and Donna Murphy, also an actress who played Lucinda in As the World Turns in a minor roll. Most of it was dancers from the American Ballet, and they were amazing. 98% of it is dance numbers.

Nice distraction. All I want to do this weekend is watch television and read. Instead of baking, I sliced up a couple of apples and a banana and dipped them in chocolate. I don't really want baked goods right now. I do not know why.

Oh this made me laugh...it was from the Nextdoor Neighboor Kesington Site: Hi, I ordered 9lbs of frozen pasta sauce from QVC.com but don’t have room in my freezer. Does anyone want it?

I laugh because I can totally see that happening. You want one jar, you can't find one jar - so you order it online and end up getting a lifetime supply, but no room for it.

Ah...we live in absurd times. The Governor's email told me to got to Twitter and say "How I'm really doing?" but it's Twitter...the thread dissolved in a lot ranting, whinging, and me blocking a lot of folks for life, so I don't have to see them any longer.

The world has apparently gone insane...and I'm stuck in it trying hard not to let it get to me too much. Aren't we all, right?

These are the photos from the day I got lost - which was Wed, after the five hour negotiation from hell. I was sore for two days after this. The walk helped with the stress - up until the point that I got lost. Also there was more street traffic that day than on Friday for some reason, and less masks.

I'm kind of hoping the fact that the upstate region is starting to re-open - will grab some of the frustrated New Yorkers. The problem with going to the parks - or why they are more crowded than ever before - is there are no gyms, aerobic classes, boxing, tennis, basketball, soccer games, football, baseball, swimming pools, vacations, etc - so all people have is the parks.
There's no where else they can go - but the parks and the side-streets for exercise. Apparently they've opened up more streets now to pedestrians, and closed them to traffic. Also are creating more designated bike lanes. This should make walking about easier. I may start taking much longer walks. Who knows maybe I can walk to the doctor's office in June? The appointment is at 4:20 - if I start at 9 am, I might get there by then.

Anyhow, here's the pictures.
