My mood lifted considerably once I entered the cemetery today after work. After several days of rain and overcast skies, it was a crystal blue sky day today - with barely a crisp of cloud in the sky. Birds were a-twitter. And flowers blooming. My allergies were also in full bloom but what can you do.

Spring - feels at times as if Nature got bored and took up impressionist painting. Enough with these drab old colors - time to go wild.

Took a happy CBD pill today, which helped. Then worried that the reason I was feeling depressed, lethargic, and having troubles losing weight was thyroid. So I checked my last lab test results - taken in December by the gynecologist. No, it's not thyroid. Then I thought about it - and realized, well of course you are depressed. Hello. Pandemic. In big city. Alone. Seriously? Why wouldn't you be? Also, peri-menopause/menopause, and you've other issues.

Also walked around Greenwood Cemetery and took lots of photos of flowers.

The J&J apparently has the same issues as the AstraZenca - can't say I'm surprised, they are somewhat similar in construction. Apparently six people came down with severe blood clotting from J&J. Keep in mind this is not six out of ten who took the vaccine, this is six out of 15 million. So, I think they may be over-reacting? Also it's only women. I got slightly worried about the folks I know that got the J&J, then reminded myself that so did the Governor and Mayor. They seem fine.

But NY is one of the states that agreed to pause. It also freaked out regarding the pause.

CDC: There may be a problem with the J&J, we'd like you to pause on distribution of that one until further notice.
NY: Wait? What??
CDC: It's nothing serious, a few people got severe blood clots, we just want to be safe.
NY: But, that'll cause a major problem in us reaching our goal. What about our economy? What about Broadway? And restaurants? And sporting events? And returning to the office? And tourism! And hotels! Nooo!
CDC: It'll be fine. You just have to slow down a bit.
NY: Ack! Ack!

Note not all the states paused. California kind of went, eh, frak that, we're moving forward as planned.

The dominant strand in the US is now the British variant.

US: Thank you Britain, we really appreciate the gift. Please let us know what we can send you return?? Sincerely, the US.
Britain: Eh, no problem. And no need to send anything back. We're fine thanks. Just beginning to open up actually. How's that J&J one dose thing going for you?

Other than that? Slow day. Not a lot to report. Hanging in there. I may make gluten free bread tomorrow - I've got two bread mixes. Or I'll wait until Thursday, when it's raining.

It's funny how a little sunshine and flowers can lighten a mood.

2. The Nevers is a hit on HBO Max - apparently people don't care about reviews? OR the curiosity factor?

I'm waiting until more episodes are available to watch. Although I may watch the pilot this weekend.

HBO doesn't drop episodes all at once like Netflix, they are like Disney + - it's gradual.

HBO’s newest series “The Nevers” drew 1.4 million viewers across all platforms, including HBO Max, on Sunday night. That matched the overall premiere viewership for last summer’s HBO series “Lovecraft Country.”

Those views are spread out between the linear HBO channel, including Sunday night replays, as well as streaming service HBO Max. On HBO Max specifically, “The Nevers” had the best opening for an HBO original series, surpassing both “Lovecraft Country” and “The Undoing,” the latter of which went on to be HBO’s most-watched series of 2020.

The finale of “The Undoing” drew 3 million viewers in November, HBO’s biggest audience since the Season 2 finale of “Big Little Lies” in 2019.

“The Nevers” is set in Victorian England, during a time when London is beset by the “Touched” people (mostly women) who suddenly manifest abnormal abilities — some charming, some very disturbing. Among them are Amalia True (Laura Donnelly), a mysterious, quick-fisted widow, and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly), a brilliant young inventor. They are the champions of this new underclass, making a home for the Touched and fighting to keep them safe.

“The Nevers” was created by Joss Whedon, who left the show midway through production on its first season, following accusations over his behavior on the set of “Justice League” reshoots by Ray Fisher. Whedon left “The Nevers” a few weeks before HBO parent company WarnerMedia announced it had concluded its investigation into those accusations.

In February, accusations of “hostile and toxic” on-set behavior were made against Whedon by “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel” alum Charisma Carpenter. At that time, HBO and HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys told TheWrap “no complaints” were made about Whedon from anyone involved with “The Nevers” before he exited the series.
