Y2/D231 - Election Day - I Voted
Nov. 2nd, 2021 05:40 pmSo I voted. It didn't rain as threatened. The sun was actually visible behind the clouds. No blue though, and the clouds have been heavy and varying shades of grey all day long.
Kind of like what this entire year has been like? Lots of overcast skies and gray clouds threatening rain and thunderstorms - as a result I've had more sinus headaches, and been edgier. At least, I think it is a result of the weather. Also more depressed - I'm like a human weather vane, I swear.
Voted straight democrat, because you couldn't pay me enough to vote for the other parties running (Conservative, Libertarian, and Republican). Working Families was basically Democrat.
Some there were no real choices on - and just one candidate in the running.
Also voted for the voting rights (registration up to the election day, easier access to absentee ballots, etc), and for the clean water and health care act.
I'm just one little voice among dozens, but if I don't vote...then I really can't complain about the outcome, also many elections can be decided on one vote. It's called fighting for the world I want.
Lost the sticker, or I'd post a picture of that. So you'll have to take my word for it.
It's all local races, Mayor, Comptroller, Public Advocate, District Attorney, stuff like that. Nothing Federal or really at the State Level, mainly just NYC.

Father has another UTI, no surprise there. They are treating it with anti-biotics and keeping him overnight for observation. Meanwhile, my mother is trying to justify not being able to visit him. The poor woman is healing from hip surgery, and has made it to the cane stage. We're still in the middle of a pandemic. And every time she visits him - he wants to come home, which she simply can't do. So he'll be disoriented if she visits and she'll upset him.
I refuse to judge her. And whether this sounds horrible or not, I'm relieved she's staying home and not trying to visit him at this point. I don't want to lose them both. Even if her visiting him - might comfort him. But it's hard to know with dementia.
Anyhow at least he didn't have a stroke.

Tomorrow - I go back to work - remotely. Not back in the office until Friday. Then Next Week - it's Wed. Then the week of the 15th - back en mass. They decided not to send us all back the day after daylight savings time ended. Wise move.
Personally, I don't understand why they feel the need to send the office workers back at all...nor does anyone else for that matter. It's probably some convoluted reason that has to do with the folks who can't work full time remotely from home. Right now, they are using the economy as an excuse, well that and supporting front-line workers - both of which is complete BS. But we've already established that my organization is bat-shit crazy.

Been watching Rosewell, NM - it's official, I don't care what happens to Max and Liz, everyone else, yes, just not them. This was my difficulty with the original series as well - so it's not the actors, it's those two characters. Also been watching Nancy Drew - which for reasons that escape me, got rid of the two hunky supporting male co-stars from last season and have Nancy in a romance with two guys who are the exact opposite of hunky. What are the writers thinking? And New Amsterdam - which is wee bit too politically correct/social issue laden for its own good.

I don't want to talk about whatever is happening in the world. I've not written anything creative for Nano. And I can't seem to get motivated to do so. I'm writing, just not on the novel, apparently.
Grateful for:
1. Ability to vote
2. social media
3. mother
And my walk around Greenwood Cemetery yesterday - with a blue sky and lots of sun. One day of sun and clear sky, but hey at least I got it.
Random Photo of the day...
