God knows, why I feel compelled to continue. No one is forcing me to. I think it is a quirk in my make up, I'd say genetic, but no, I think this is just me.
Been bummed out today. Although, my father is out of the hospital and back in the Preston. Mother was in tears again on the phone, and alas so was I. She feels guilty because she can barely stand to spend time with him any longer, and he's her best friend. She's devoted to him, but one hour or two in his company does her in - she's spent.
Loving someone going through Alzheimers is painful no matter which way you cut it. My father is in the later stages of it. He can barely walk (he mostly just pushes a wheel-chair around with his feet and hands), and outside of his dementia and the occasional UTI, he's seemingly healthy.
Mother's had a difficult day. Her friend ripped into her today for saying the wrong thing. And well she didn't make it over to the Preston (long-term care facility) to see my father.
Tomorrow - I go back into the office, which I always kind of dread. I get more done at home. Today when I didn't really have work to do, I did laundry and called mother. Also unpacked a surprise food delivery. I signed up for Imperfect Food orders back in 2020, and I can't figure out how to get unsubscribed, so I just keep clicking skip delivery option (so they skip that week). But alas, I forgot to do it for this week, and missed the email - so ended up getting food they selected for me. It wasn't as bad as expected. I got lemons, limes, avocados, onions, sweet potatoes, 2 packages of heirloom organic frozen chicken breasts (with two breasts per package), smoked norweigian salmon, plantain chips, maple flavored kettle corn popcorn, sweet peppers, french custard pumpkin pudding in small class containers, and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. I gave the cookies to a bald headed, rather attractive guy in the laundry room - who works in television, and never wears a mask. (I stopped caring about it in my apartment complex). I told him that they'd never been touched, I just got them in a food order, I can't eat them - gluten intolerant - and he can have them.
Plus side of living in an apartment complex? It's easy to get rid of stuff. I just take it to the basement or give it to my super or neighbors.

Accomplishments?
I got everyone to finally sign off on the CPS Option from Hell. So, it may be awarded before the end of this month! That's a minor accomplishment, only took 18 months and counting. Been trying to award the stupid thing since May 2020.
Also, did laundry. Which is always problematic. But currently 12:30/40 pm to 2:15 pm seems to be a good time. I get in and around folks. Will have to switch back to 5:30 pm - 7 pm soon.
And, ordered contact lenses.
Pretty sunset. Streaked blue sky with pink and orange to pink clouds.

I was going to take a walk after work, but I'm dragging. Tired.
And I'm procrastinating on the whole arranging to come down and visit mother.( Read more... )

Positive things?
1. Pretty sunset
2. Soap Opera to watch
3. Father out of hospital
4. Vaccines and Vaccine mandates (because of these, NYC is close to immunity...)
Random picture of the day..
