Soap Twitter is definitely Pro-Choice. They are posting comical tweets of various unsavory characters from the soap opera offering to "adopt your baby" as a satirical commentary on the Pro-Life view that adoption is the answer in all cases.

Best one to date is Lesle Obrecht and Faison dressed as Gretel and Beetlejuice. Although also Faison and Helena Cassadine was inspired. Above each? "We'll adopt your baby". Soap twitter can be smartly satirical.

Years ago, a work colleague and friend, told me that she came up with policy statements or mission statements regarding her views on political topics. I don't have statements so much as stances.

I'm Pro-Choice. It's not open for debate or discussion.

Pro-Life telemarketer: You're Pro-Life right?
Me: No. Planned Parenthood.
Hangs up.

Review of The Offer

This is the series that was written by Michael Tolkien, and partially produced by Al Ruddy based on Ruddy's book and recollections of producing the Godfather. Ruddy only produced the first film - because he wanted to produce his own film "The Longest Yard" - which he wrote. Also the first Godfather film almost did him in - it was an all-consuming and painful experience. Francis Ford Coppola, co-wrote, directed, and produced The Godfather Part II, which in some respects is the better film.

The series, which is ten episodes in all, and a one-shot - follows the experiences of Al Ruddy as he goes from being a computer programmer at RAND, to writing and producing Hogan's Heroes, to his big break - producing The Godfather under Bob Evans at Paramount. Miles Teller plays Ruddy, he took over the part from Armie Hammer - who left the role for well, moral turpitude.

Feeling really edgy today - like I want to crawl out of my skin. It's a weird feeling. I get it occasionally, usually with periods, but alas not having those any longer - apparently. I think my hormones are flaring or off again.

Also ruminating over an job possibility from a head-hunter. Read more... )

I feel as if I'm languishing. I'm not depressed. I'm not happy. I'm content? Or just kind of numb. And bee-bopping along.

On music front - decided to listen to the soundtrack to the new Elvis film, it's out now and available for download from Apple Music (at least). Some of it is rather good. They do a rap version of Hound Dog by Doja Cat - who calls it Vegas for the Elvis film.

* Here's Craw Fever a remastering with Elvis singing it.

* And a remastered version of Elvis singing Unchained Melody

* Kasey Musgraves I Can't Help Falling in Love with You

*Austin Butler singing Trouble

But after talking to a co-worker - I'm waiting for it to pop on streaming. Apparently it's more about the Colonel than Elvis - or told from the Colonel's point of view. The Colonel interests me more - because I've seen a lot of Elvis biopics in my life time, and a lot of documentaries, he died when I was about ten or thereabouts. And so they flooded the television with all of his films. So, I'd like that - but movies are expensive here and I've a big enough television set at home, with no pesky germy people nearby.
