1. Thinking of working on drawing and painting a sunflower over the next week. I got my easels today.

2. Finished watching The Banshees of Inshirin tonight, which is haunting. It's about the dissolution of a friendship on a small island off the coast of Ireland in 1922.

I find the Golden Globes puzzling. They put it in the musical and comedy section, and Elvis in the drama section. I'd have flipped the two. Banshees is not a comedy. I think I may have laughed once, but I found it sad and kind of bleak.

It also once again brought home to me that how we treat other living things and others matters far more than the art we create or the work that we do.
It's not who remembers us that is important or if we are remembered or even what legacy if any we leave behind, but rather how...and the footprints we leave on the ground beneath us. And it's best if we leave as little a footprint as possible, and as little damage as possible.

I recommend this one - much like TAR, it haunts me long afterwards. And plays with my head.

3. Still loving Peaky Blinders, which seems to get better with each season. The characters evolve and we learn more about each of them.

4. Currently reading A Lady for a Duke by Alexis Hall - this is a historical romance between a transgender woman and a Duke. The set-up is during the War (the Napoleon War), Viscount Marleigh fakes his death and takes off to become a woman.
Leaving his best friend, Lord Gravewood, a Duke, grief stricken by his loss, and ravaged with guilt. She comes to her friend's aid as a lady's companion to Lady Marleigh, who has married her younger brother, who inherited the Viscount seat.

The writer is male, goes by a pseudonym, and is British. So far it's well written.

They apparently write a lot of queer romance novels, both contemporary and historical.

Also, still working my way through Trevor Noah's audiobook Born a Crime. Kind of got bogged down on all his depiction of the South African hood, and criminal activities, also dating from a male perspective.

Flirting with spending a credit on Prince Harry's audio memoir, Spare. Except, I don't care that much about the Royal Family and have never liked the concept.

Just because something is trendy, doesn't necessarily mean I'll like it.

5. Speaking of trending...I don't know if I'll watch The Last of Us on HBO.

* I'm not a gamer. Never have been. If I play games - they tend to be pattern games, strategic, solo, non-competitive, and I get bored of them eventually. (such as Wordl, Redecorator, Tetris, Majohn solitare). I hate competitive games. And never have been into role-playing games.

* I don't like zombies. It's the one horror trope - that I tend to try to stay clear of. I find them gross, disturbing, and horrifying.

* Dystopian horror post pandemic hasn't worked for me. I can't watch or read it.

The lost two may make it impossible for me to watch this?
