How Much Do You Trust Online Reviews?

I don't. Mainly because most people don't know how to review things. Most reviewers review a film on whether it met a specific criteria in their head. Was it the film the marketing lead them to believe it was? Could they personally relate to it? Did it play out the way it would have if they had filmed it or written it? Seldom is the review about the film or piece of artwork - it's more often or not about the person reviewing it.

This is true of both professional and amateur reviews. I rarely see a good analysis of how the film worked on a technical level - or whether it conveyed what the filmmaker wanted it to convey.

So whether I'll like the film or not has a lot to do with whether I have the same taste as the reviewer. And that's kind of a toss-up.

How Do You Feel About Zoos?

Depends on the Zoo? But I dislike them. My parents disliked them. We rarely went to zoos growing up. My mother didn't like seeing the animals in cages, and neither did my father. Or in captivity.

Also, one of my co-workers worked with a charity that helped animals that had been abused in zoos and circuses. So I don't like circuses either.

I prefer wildlife sanctuary's or parks, where the animals have free reign, and there are no cages.

What Could You Not Live Without? What Could You Live Without?

There's a lot of things I can't live without - food, shelter, clothing, a bed, working shower and toilet, laundry...etc. Kind of have to be a bit more specific here? Also I walk by homeless folks each day on the way to work - and they manage to live without everything but shelter and clothing and food.

What could I live without? I could probably live without television and films. Prefer not to, but I could. I could also live without my cell phone, and social media (prefer not to, but could).

Books...and music, I'm not sure I could live without.

What Are Your Experiences With Severe Weather?

I've lived through three-four hurricanes. (I live on an island, and we get hurricanes, albeit not recently, thank god.). The worst was Super-Storm Sandy which took out power, and the subways and rails for about a week. Which is a huge problem in NYC, because basically this means permanent grid-lock. Nothing could get through. We had fires across the city, and I couldn't get into work, it was awful. There were also long lines at the gas stations (not cars, people).

Also seen various tornado warnings in Kansas. But never really saw one. They did come close once or twice.

And, walked through streets that became rivers in an attempt (foiled) to get lab work done. Was soaking wet. And, I've had my apartment almost get flooded with leaks in the roof. As a kid? We had our basement get flooded repeatedly.

How Close Are/Were You to Your Parents?

Very close. We're best friends. Losing my Dad was hard.

What Are Your Favorite Commercials?

I skip them. I find commercials annoying. I honestly can't think of a single commercial I like. And am thinking of cutting my cable and just doing streaming.

How Well Do You Sleep?

Not well, it's highly likely that I have sleep apnea, and am trying to get a mask.

What Would You Create if You Had Funding?

I honestly don't know at the moment.

What Movies, Shows or Books Do You Wish Had Sequels, Spinoffs or New Episodes?

Angel the Series, Farscape, Shadow and Bone (I want a Six of Crows spin-off on television).

Do You Like Scary Movies and Books?

Yes.

Just finished watching Killers of the Flower Moon on Apple Plus. It's streaming on Apple for free now, well free if you already have a subscription. (I've an All-in-One subscription that includes unlimited music and the Cloud. )

This is the film adaptation by Martin Scorsese of the non-fictional work "The Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI".

vague spoilers in the review )
