This has been bugging me. Anyone can be a professional wordsmith. If you write for a living, be it in tech, law, business, travel, publishing, journalism, academia, etc - you are a wordsmith. If you write as a hobby - you are a wordsmith. If you blog daily, write letters, do cross-word puzzles or wordle or connections, write fanfiction, or meta - you are a wordsmith. It's not necessarily something to brag about. It's not like you learned rocket science, became an astronaut, a fighter pilot, or a tight-rope walker or an acrobat. It's a common skill. Professional writers irritate me - particularly the ones who do it creatively, such as professional novelists, screenwriters, television writers and poets. Yes, yes, we know they can write. They need to get over themselves. Their need for constant validation is exhausting. I almost miss the 20th Century, when I was oblivious to them and just saw their writing, not their bragging and whinging.
On a brighter note...memage.
1. November 1st is the start of Deepawali (also known as Diwali) - the Hindu Festival of Light. Have you ever seen any rangoli made of flowers/coloured sand/coloured rice etc?
When I told Breaking Bad, I was taking November 1 off - he wanted to know if I was celebrating Diwali. I had no idea what it was and had forgotten it was in November. (I knew it was All Souls Day or All Saints Day...but that's about it.)
Anyhow, I don't think so? I've no idea what it is. But I have the internet and can look it up.

I was wrong, I have. Multiple times. I just didn't know it was called that. Probably was told and promptly forgot. I don't tend to remember things orally, just visually.
2. In 1983 Michael Jackson released ‘Thriller’ – have you seen the 14-minute video?
Multiple times. I think I originally saw it on MTV in 1983.
Here it is - you can see it too.
