Got some sort of crappy head cold. Had a bit of a sore throat yesterday and last night. Just feel congested today, with a runny nose. But doing everything possible to feel better - and beat this so I don't bring it with me into the new workplace on Monday. I can't take the day off. The good news is I'm not around that many people at new work location, and it's only two days, then I'm off for the next three days (hence the reason I can't take it off - too long and convoluted to explain, it's a union thing).

Made soup for dinner - Ginger, Garlic, Garbazano Bean, Zuccini noodle, chicken broth, onion, dill, olive oil, celery, carrot, and pepper. Also tea. And miso soup for lunch. Lots of water. Mucinex DM. And stayed home convalescing in the arm chair, watching television, and dosing. (I was watching Virgin River on Netflix and kept going to sleep during it. Now I'm re-watching the last three episodes of S1 Rings of Fire, because I can't remember what happened well enough to watch S2. It's making me want to re-watch the Hobbit and Fellowship of The Ring, to be honest.)

27. In 1904 “Peter Pan” was first staged in London – have you ever seen it on stage or in a film version?

[ETA? I have a cold and brain fog - so skipped over this last night and forgot to delete the response from the person I swiped it from? So actual answer is below...

Yes, I've seen the stage, live action, and cartoon version. They used to show the televised theater version repeatedly in the 1970s when I was a kid. I saw the Disney animated version in the theaters - when it was released. I've read the play. I drew and designed clothing for the play for a theater class. I've seen various live action takes. And I've read the picture book (based on the Disney animated version) as a child, and the actual story by JM Barrie. Personally, I think the story has been overdone now? There's a million different versions - some have Hook as the villain, some have Peter, some Tinkerbell, some the kids...sigh. There's also the Play That Goes Wrong version of it - where TinkerBell goes after the actor playing Peter Pan.]

28. The American comic-book artist, writer and creative leader of the Marvel multimedia corporation (Avengers, Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk), Stan Lee was born on this day in 1922. Have you ever read any comic books (graphic novels)?

Yes. I still read them. They really aren't for kids. There's lots of adult content. Or the ones I've been reading aren't. Unlike most people, I started reading comics in college, at the age of 18, and continued off and on throughout my life. I fell in love with how they tell stories. I bought for a Xmas gift for myself and Wales, Capitalism and Ideology, a graphic novel adaptation of the book. I also have a weakness for superhero stories about outsiders - with convoluted back stories, and serialized - which is the X-men. I started reading them in 1985, and haven't stopped since.

I wish I could create my own comic - but I've not figured out how to make my drawings move quite yet. I'm working on it.

29. In 1952 the first transistorized hearing aid was offered for sale (in Elmsford NY). Have you ever had your hearing tested?

Yes, recently in fact - as in just last year. It's fine. No hearing loss at all.

30. Do you own personal scales and weigh yourself often?

I have a personal scale - but it doesn't work or I can't get it to work. So no, I don't weigh myself except at the doctor's office.

31. Have you ever been on a diet, or do you just try and eat healthily? Do you plan to start a diet in the new year?

Yes. I am on a diet - there are things I can't eat and veer away from. For example - I'm kind of limited to eggs and greens for breakfast, with occasional waffles on weekends, coconut yogurt and nuts, or oatmeal (but rarely - too high in carbs.) I'm on a low-carb, veggie heavy, no grain, low-dairy, paeolo style diet - except heavy on salmon/tuna, low on meat/poultry.

This has zip to do with losing weight, and everything to do with various health conditions that I'm working to maintain - and to stay healthy. Right now, I'm trying to pull more beans into my diet and cut back on chocolate.
