Alphabet Meme, that I snagged from svgurl.

A is for Argument: Who is the last person you argued with and what was it about?

Probably BYT. I argue with BYT a lot. This?

BYT: Reschedule the technical evaluation meetings for this day, and this day and this one.
Me: But that's just four days after they get the tech proposals. That's not enough time. And three of those days are relief days or days off. They are human not AI.
BYT: Hey, I am only providing what I was directed. We don't need a full evaluation, just questions.
Me: okay...

I don't know maybe that's not arguing? It's just questioning? It's hard to tell the difference sometimes. Also, I was trained to argue, as a friend stated to another friend once regarding me - "don't argue with the former lawyer".

B is for Breakfast: Do you eat breakfast? What do you usually have?

Yes. Either some type of egg dish (scrambled, poached, omelet or quiche), oatmeal with half n half or almond/coconut creamer, cinnamon, and pumpkin seeds, or almond flour pancakes with bacon. Depends on whether I have to go to work that morning. Also plain Greek yogurt with walnuts and pumpkin seeds.

C is for Car: Do you have one? What kind? If not, how do you usually travel?

No. I either walk, take the subway, the commuter train, a taxi or car service (uber, lyft, etc), and if far distances - Amtrak or Plane. Or someone else drives me.

But mainly? It's free subway/train and feet. I don't pay anything for transportation - it's a perk of working for a transportation agency.

D is for Dinner: What's on the menu tonight?

Spinach and Gruyere Cheese Omelete, with bacon. Almond flour Apple Pie Blondie with whipped cream for desert.

E is for Excellence: Name one thing you think you're really good at

Writing, or so I'm told.

F is for Friends: Tell us something you like about the last friend you spoke to:

We can talk about anything, and they are knowledgeable about art and like mine.

G is for Games: What's the last game you played (computer or board game)?

Computer Game - it's Redecor - a home design game that I found on Instagram. You basically design rooms, and places for tokens, and coins. Then use the tokens and coins to buy materials to design more rooms, building up to each level. It's a pattern matching game. I'm great at pattern and/or color matching games.

H is for Home: Where do you consider to be your "hometown"? Is it where you live now?

Brooklyn, New York - it's where I've lived the longest. And it's the only place that I chose to live. Well outside of maybe Colorado Springs for College. I've lived here over 25 years now.

I is for Internet: What websites do you look at every day?

Dreamwidth, Wordl (well frequently at any rate), Facebook, Xitter, and Bluesky. Also Instagram. Although wouldn't necessarily say "every day".

J is for Job: What did you want to be when you grew up? Are you doing that now?

A novelist. (along with a lot of other things, such as veterinarian, actress, playwrite, Political Science Professor, Civil Rights Attorney/Advocate, artist, UN Diplomat, etc.) Not really. But I do write for a living at least. Or for the most part? The novelist and artist bit is mostly a hobby.

K is for Kitchen: Are you a good cook? What's your go-to dish?

Yes. Don't really have one at the moment. I jump around. And get bored a lot. I don't love cooking - I'm just for the most part good at it - I'm an intutitive cook - I rarely follow a recipe or I'll follow one for a bit, memorize it and then play with it.

L is for Learning: Are you studying or learning anything new right now?

Yes. I'm constantly learning at my job - learning all about how to install elevators. And critique Alternative Technical Concepts. Also, the database keeps changing - so I have to keep figuring it out. My job is always changing and in flux, so I'm always having to learn the new regulations and procedures.

What else? I'm teaching myself how to paint again.

M is for Movies: What's the last one you watched and did you like it?

In the Movie Theater? Oppenheimer. And yes, I did. I loved it.

On television? Sunshine. And it was okay.

N is for Nightmares: Do you have bad dreams? Any recurring themes?

Constantly. Recurring? Back in school, can't find my classes - and the semester ends, and for some reason I've managed to miss history and math.
I don't know how - but I keep missing these two classes, just didn't go to them at all. Why it is always history and math, I've no clue. I love history. I hated math - so that does make sense at least. But history?

Other's? I'm outside on the street and I've forgotten my shoes.

I have a lot of nightmares about applying to schools and going to school. It's very odd.

Also travel nightmares - either I got on the wrong subway or can't seem to find the subway. Or I got lost on the way to the airport. Or I forgot to pack for the airport, and I'm there, but without my ID, Passport, purse, or luggage.

The recurring theme is: fear of not being prepared, getting lost, or forgetting things. It's usually a sign of feeling overwhelmed or stressed.

O is for Orders: What's the last thing you bought online?

A tray to put food on, which has yet to arrive. (That's if you don't count comic books via comixcology.)

P is for Pop Culture: Do you follow the world of celebrity and know what the hottest new music, movies and trends are?

Not really? I don't really care about celebrities. I do follow a few actors who I like and want to see more of - but they don't tend to be "celebrities" - James Marsters and Cillian Murphy are kind of below the radar. I've never been trendy - for a long time people thought it was because I didn't know the trends or see them - but I do. I just don't care. Most trends seem dumb to me or just don't interest me.

I'm fairly stubborn in regards to my tastes. And opinionated. If I like something, I like it, not because it is the hottest thing or other's like it.

Example? I still to this day, do not understand the appeal of Twilight or Titantic.

And, I have no desire to see the film Barbie. And I don't get the appeal of the Lego Movie nor have bothered watching it.

But I did fall in love with Star Wars, Battle Star Galatica, the Hobbit, and Dune. Also Oppenheimer blew me away - but I decided to see it on my own, based purely on my crush on Cillian Murphy and Robert Downy Jr. And had to hunt someone to see it with me.

Q is for Quiet: If you're home alone, do you like silence or background noise like music or the TV?

If I am at home, with no one around, working on anything or reading, I prefer silence, but if I am eating or cooking, I do prefer some background noise.

R is for Reading: What's your go-to genre?

Science Fiction and Fantasy, especially with an element of mystery, suspense and romance to it (but not necessarily the central focus). I fell in love with science fiction and fantasy novels as a child and there was no going back. It's the genre that encompasses mystery, romance, horror, and even historical. And it delves into metaphor better than any other. (I tend to think metaphorically not literally, so literal novels don't tend to work for me as well. )

S is for Sweets: What's your favourite dessert or sweet treat?
Peppermint or coffee ice cream or lot of things with chocolate in it - especially chocolate mousse.

T is for Travel: Where did you last take a trip?

Traveled by train to Great Barrington, Massachusetts, for my niece's graduation.

U is for Useless: Name something you're just really bad at

Sewing. I can't sew to save my life. And I've tried, repeatedly. Also can't count to save my life, thread a needle, or measure, or cut in a straight line. Which may explain why I can't sew?

V is for Vision: Do you wear glasses or contact lenses?

Both. I wear contacts, and reading glasses. Also have back bio-focal lenses. I wear the contacts with the reading glasses, because glasses give me a headache if I wear them too long, and the biofocals take away my depth perception completely. Biofocal contacts are even worse.

I don't have much depth perception to begin with - it's why I can't drive.
I can't tell how far away objects are in space - they truly appear closer to me than they actually are. Driving gives me intense headaches and anxiety. Note: it's not a matter of knowing how to drive - I do, I learned, and I did drive for a few years in my twenties in Kansas. But I can't now.
Do to spatial relation issues. Be grateful you don't have this problem.

W is for Weather: What's your perfect day, weather-wise?

Slightly warm, but not too hot. Clear blue sky. Sunny. Somewhere in the low to mid 70s, with a slight breeze.

X is for X-Men: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

Ah, whomever created this meme is a fan of the X-men. I'm not alone. Kaloo. Kalai!

This reminds me of an ice-breaker conversation I had once.

Leader: What superpower would you want?
Me: Teleportation.
Leader: Teleportation? You mean as having a teleportation device?
ME: No. As in being able to teleport anywhere that I wanted to in the blink of an eye without the need of a device.
Leader: Not invulnerability or the ability to fly or -
Me: No, teleportation - fast and easy.
Leader: What about telepathy?
Me: God, no. That would be head-ache inducing. Teleportation. You can go anywhere you want without any issues and bring anything you want with you.

Teleportation, as long as it doesn't have any adverse affects. That's only one I want. Nothing else.

Of course if I was an X-men - it would have adverse effects. They always do.

Y is for Yesteryear: What period of history is most interesting to you?

I was always the most interested in Ancient History - such as Egypt, Greece, the Celts, and the Romans, pre-Judeo/Christianity. Or Pagan times.
They had complex cultures and built insanely complicated structures.

And Elizabethan Era or the Renaissance.

Those two eras were the most interesting to me. And the least studied in school. Public school history courses were obsessed with: the Revolutionary War, the Explorers, The Civil War, and WWII. We barely got anything else.
I did get a little European History in the Fifth and Sixth Grade in Kansas City, and later, we got some sociology, Vietnam, and a little Korea.

My father was frustrated social historian, who had specialized in Black History - so I got more than most people did.

Z is for Zero: what popular activity do you have zero interest in doing?

Bike riding. I've considered. And just no. I'd rather walk and hike. We're not bike riders in my family. None of us bike. We all know how, but it doesn't really turn any of us on, and we all kind of give up on it after a bit. Plus it kind of hurts.

Coffee ice cream is my favorite too and chocolate mousse is so good.

I thought about flying and telepathy but I'm with you - teleportation is the fastest and most convenient, as long as there aren't any side effects.
