Oct. 26th, 2023 10:43 pm1. Has anyone had "Shingles"? The healing wound pings every once and a while, and I feel pings elsewhere. Also it's all these tiny bumpy scars. Is this normal?
My arm has been bugging me lately - hence the question.
2. Did laundry tonight. Have $7.95 left on the card. Which isn't bad, and possibly enough for one load of linens next Tuesday, before they switch out the laundry machines on me. They are switching out the machines on November 2, and putting in new ones on November 6 or 7. Also the amount will go up, and they have put in a new "card" machine. Although the old one is still there. I think they are getting rid of the Gas Operated Dryers and Washing Machines, and putting in Electric Dryers and Washers. Mainly because the gas has become a problem - the building keeps getting gas leaks.
The Super's wife mentioned replacing my stove and oven with an electric one down the road - and I said I wouldn't fight them on it. (What I want is what my brother has.)
Anyhow, got a lot of laundry done - various work shirts and pants. Also socks (was running out of long socks). I often do laundry because I'm running out of socks. Bane of my existence - socks.
My church's Minister sermonized once about how she never had to worry about running out of socks...and I thought, lucky you.
3. Finished Slayers - which had a fun twist ending. Actually possibly among the better endings. That was a good ending.
Oh - Xander isn't in it - he's vaguely mentioned as some guy Cordelia knew in school but barely noticed. And Willow isn't really in it at all.
Buffy doesn't exist in the Alternate Dimension, nor does Dawn or Faith.
It's basically for fans of Spike, Giles, Tara, Cordelia, Anya, and Drusilla.
Now, listening to Henry James' Turn of the Screw, as read by Emma Thompson and Richard Armitage - and it's really good. I highly recommend audio books. I used to bemoan them, until the pandemic - and I have discovered audio books and adore them.
Because of audio books - I've read a ton of non-fiction and biographies. They don't work for everything - Wolf Hall didn't work for me at all. But quite a few have. And James language, which I found rough going reading, is beautiful to listen to. Made to be read and performed.
4. I deleted the Elvis songs, but they didn't go away. They keep popping up. I think the Ghost of Elvis is haunting me for some reason through my Iphone?
