Spent the morning reading The Croning which is a rather short book actually. I think it's only about 200 pages? It's hard to tell with E-books. I also can't tell if the mistakes are due to its transference to E-book or editorial/authorial errors. I think it was published prior to E-Books, so most likely the former.

Almost done with it any rate. More creepy than anything else. Also, I'm annoyed with the author's obvious issues with women, and indigenous cultures. Both border on misogynistic and racist. This is unfortunately a problem with pre-21st Century Horror, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Romance, and Fantasy. Not all, but some. And occasionally I stumble across them. Horror is by far the worst in this regard. There's a lot of male horror writers who confuse Wicca and Pagan rituals with well Devil Worship. Also for some reason or other, took the wrong thing away from the Salem Witch Trials.

Why am I still reading it? Curious.

Started a new book, which I can't remember the name of. It's a paperback. With a cool cover. I posted a picture of it a few posts back? It's about a Dark Wizard who wakes up with amnesia and can't remember who he is, but does apparently still posses a bit of magic.

Kind of twisty Dresden Files with amnesia?

The thing about having broad and somewhat eclectic taste? Not to mention moody. Is it takes you in all sorts of odd directions and paths, culturally speaking. I'm also not that judgemental when it comes to art, and more or less open to trying new things. I do tend to swing wide of torture porn, we all have our limits. Well that and spiders. Also, not a fan of body horror and gore. Or graphic depictions of rape. So...yup, limits.

On the Television front?

Finished S3 of The Bear (F/X and Hulu)- that was a beautiful season - I adored it. Highly recommend. Best thing I've seen this year. Consumed that in two to three days.

Watching Loudermilk on Netflix - Farralley's take on alcoholism. It's interesting - about a former divorced music critic who is running an alcoholic support group. Has the crude humor you'd expect from Farrelley (of Dumb & Dumber and There's Something About Mary fame, but reigned in a bit? Or the sight gags are.)

Also started watching S2 of Surreal Estate on Hulu.

I may begin Shogun soon.
