Sunday came in and left, cold, grey and dreary. Although in my apartment - it seems rather warm, and I have a fan, an A/C, and two windows open, and it is still 76 degrees. I did the peddler. I filed my taxes (finally! Basically I panicked for *cough*reasons*cough* and stopped procrastinating and did it. Wales and I debated not doing it - just to see what happened, but I want the refund.) Paid medical co-payments. And watched church via Zoom.

Watching SNL Concert at Radio City Music Hall which aired Friday night on Peacock. I decided to purchase a year of streaming for Peacock at $29, which was a huge markdown from $79.99. I want to check out Poker Face, along with seeing a lot of films that are exclusively streaming on Peacock, such as Wicked towards the end of the month.

Did not know the B-52s were still alive. Or DEVO was for that matter. Devo has aged better. B-52s...the women sounded better than the male singer. They did Love Shack - which they are famous for. (Saturday Night Live Radio City Music Hall Concert for their 50th Anniversary invited all of their past music acts, and the audience was invite only as well - it's everyone who participated or was closely associated with the participants over the years. So if you ever hosted SNL, performed on it, starred, wrote for it, or were associated directly with someone who did or worked on it in any way? You were invited. Makes for an interesting audience to say the least.)

Oh cool - they have the Fugees or Lauren Hill and WynClef Fan with "Killing Me Softly" - which is my favorite rendition of that song and a favorite hip-hop song.

Some of the acts - I don't understand, they are weird comedic parodies that work better if you know what they are parodying? Oh, Jelly Roll really sounds like Johnny Cash - that's amazing. And Brandi Carlyle and Mumford and Sons. Also St. Vincent and Arcade Fire are supposed to perform.

American Political Situation aka the Stinky Elephant in the Room which we can't seem to dislodge - it just won't leave

Regarding US (or American) politics? This is what I told someone else today and I think it's worth posting here as well? The national news and the media on American Politics is basically endlessly reporting on the stinking elephant in the room. And I get it - if your profession is to study that or analyze that and you can't do a total news blockage? But for those of us who happen to be living inside the stinking elephant and don't need to watch the news to know what is happening? We have to step out of it for a bit to maintain what's left of our sanity. (Although I now understand what it must have been like living in Japan, China, Russia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and even Britain in the 1930s-40s. Except this is crazier? Because, well it's the US and the US has been a Republic for 200 years and 301 million people didn't vote for the thing in the white house, only 79 million did, most didn't vote, and 78 million voted for Harris.) Like the majority of New Yorkers at the moment? Fuck this. I want to move to Canada.

Someone on Bluesky from New Zealand posted that they felt for all the Americans and wished there was something they could do, and that they were over here in New Zealand if we needed them.

ME: Watch out about that offer, you may end up with approx. 100-200 million American refugees on your doorstop taking you up on it. I for one am considering it.

Oh well, I filed my taxes today. I usually do it around Feb, but I got motivated Hopefully I filed them in enough time to get a Federal Refund. It's bigger this year than last year - because I donated more in charitable contributions. [Apparently per Wales, who subscribes to Substack, the people who voted for the thing in the White house are now getting fired by the thing in the White house. One of them stated that they didn't vote for him in order to have their spouse lose his job and all his benefits. Sigh, and they thought the thing was the lesser of the two evils.]

I can't do the last two vaccines yet - COVID and Shingles. Although less concerned about COVID (I've had about five to six COVID vaccines, and still got COVID, it doesn't prevent it. My family members did too.) I'd like to avoid getting Shingles again, however, I keep getting phantom flare ups, so I'm hesitant to get the Shringrex vaccine just yet. (I don't see them doing away with it - Pfizer would protest.) I considered getting the Pneumonia vaccine - but I already got Pneumonia this year. I've managed to contract COVID, RSV, Pneumonia, and Shingles in the last two years. Go me.

Found out the Minister who helped me a great deal in 2010-2015 or thereabouts, and I joined the church partly because of their sermons, passed away this week. So sad.

Read more on the Buffy Reboot? Marsters stated he's not talking about it, but is excited. And can't say anything. But, a couple of things? In the podcast - he made a point about saying of the television shows he'd like to check out - Poker Face was one of them. (He's a vidder, he doesn't watch much television). And I got to thinking? They need a watcher - and a reformed, shanshued Spike is kind of perfect, he fits the Giles role to a T. If they did that? I'd watch. Have him play the Watcher, and have Gellar be recurring as his significant other, doing her thing.

I doubt they'll do that. It most likely will be someone else or no watcher at all.

I find it hard to have any empathy for them today.

Lost two people I admire today; nought to do with US politics but still I am minded of the lesbian former Hillary Clinton who was complaining last November about losing all her friends because she voted for the Orange Fart.

I will hate myself for it later, but no empathy tonight.

Your Buffy idea sounds great to me! I'd sure watch that.

It is sad to lose people like that. Hopefully they know all the people they helped.
