Friday is just wandering by...
Aug. 15th, 2025 05:48 pmBreaths a sigh of relief - it's finally Friday. It's been a difficult week, I'm glad it's over. Although today wasn't bad overall? The weather was pleasant for once. If a touch on the hazy side.
Question a Day Meme : August
8. Do you own or rent your home?
Rent.
9. Boop-Oop-A-Doop! Everyone can get their ‘boop’ on because it’s time to enjoy and celebrate Betty Boop Day! Are you familiar with Betty Boop?
Yes. I've seen the cartoon.
"Betty Boop, the iconic cartoon character, was created by Max Fleischer of Fleischer Studios and debuted in 1930. While her initial design had canine features, she quickly transformed into a fully human, female character. Her look and mannerisms were inspired by a combination of influences, including Helen Kane, a white singer who popularized the "Boop-oop-a-doop" phrase, and Esther Jones, a Black jazz singer known as "Baby Esther" who used a similar vocal style"
Not a fan. Also it's now a Broadway Musical, which I think is closing - it did not do well.
10. Are your fingernails strong and in good condition? How long are they?
At the moment? They are okay. But they always break off or tear. And never get very long. I'm not a fan of long fingernails. I also can't stand nail polish - I tend to chip away at it and take it off my fingernails within about two days of getting it on. I can't stand the feeling of anything on my nails.
11. Have you ever made a sandcastle on a beach?
Yes, albeit not recently. I did it a lot as a kid though.
12. Do you own any sunglasses (and if you have prescription glasses, do you have prescription sunglasses too)?
Yes, I lose sunglasses. So have about five to six cheap pairs - the sort you pick up at the pharmacy. Same with reading glasses. No, I don't have prescription of either - because well, I lose them. Once had a pair of sunglasses fly off my face, out the window of a bus, and down the street.
13. It’s National Internet Friends Day, which celebrates the special connections we form online. How do you feel about your online friendships?
Honestly, better than the non-online/non-internet ones at the moment.
14. Have you ever haggled and got something for a cheaper price – or would you never do that?
Yes. I've negotiated contracts (of all varieties) as a procurer of all varieties of things for the last twenty some years. I hate haggling, but I've had to do it for my job.
15. Would you rather read a romance novel or a mystery novel?
Depends on my mood. I'm a moody reader. At one point it was a mystery novel, right now, it's a romance. Because I don't want to focus on it, or think too hard about it - just read for pleasure and scratch an itch.
But honestly, if I had my druthers - it would be a hybrid - a mystery/romance, which is hard to find. Even harder is a good sci-fi mystery/romance hybrid. I love genre hybrids.

Facebook and other social media platforms - keep throwing Buffy the Vampire Slayer Revival articles at me. They keep calling it the Buffy Reboot, and people keep stating - "it's not a reboot". And then other people state: "no, it is a reboot, the other is a remake". Sigh. Keep in mind this is the same fandom that fought over what a soul meant, and whether vampires had breath. They also were still fighting over the shanshu and were worried the Buffy Revival would mess with their precious Angel. (No, the writers of the Buffy Revival couldn't care less about Angel. Gellar didn't care about Angel. I doubt she's ever watched it. ) That said? If they decide to bring back Spike or Angel - they will either have to be human (and there are many ways for that to happen outside of a shanshu, all you need is an imagination - I could do it, easy), or be insanely aged vampires (which is also possible), because both actors have definitely aged and they look their age.
Note, what I've learned from various articles thrown at me about the Buffy Revival?
It has an IMBD page now.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale appears to be the working title.
Description? Follows Buffy Summers as she trains a new vampire slayer, to fight the forces of evil.
Basically, it appears that Buffy is playing Watcher/Mentor. More information states that she has a corporate job as an insurance investigator, and is seen with a briefcase and in a fancy red dress.
They've made a big deal of casting one of the stars from the I Know What You Did Last Summer - Revival - in it, in a guest role as a vampire. (Honestly, most people aren't going to care about that. But okay.)
It has about ten people in the cast, and five are in the pilot, as far as I can tell. No other people from the previous series have been cast according to IMBD.
I'll try it, of course. Whether I stick with it - is another issue. But honestly that was the same attitude I had going into the original. Depends on how "high school" and "juvenile" it is.
Still rewatching S3, although debating skipping a few episodes and jumping to S4. I really don't like the Faith/Mayor main plot arc for some reason or other. I know I'm in the minority. Most people adore it for some reason or other.

Off to bed. Hopefully to sleep and dream of sheep...or ponies.
