Dec. 4th, 2006 06:54 pmI rarely do this, pimp other's character analysis of tv shows I'm watching - but if you are a watcher of BSG and saw this past week's episode Unfinished Business - go see
wisteria's excellent analysis of the Kara/Lee relationship specifically the character of Kara , here. Complete with screen-shots. For an early one on all the characters scroll down a few posts.
I honestly think it's the best analysis I've read on the episode and one of the few that seems to appreciate how and why it was necessary to use boxing and why this episode came at this point in the season and not earlier.
I also like the analysis on Adama's decision by
abrakadabrah on a thread to my last post on the episode - which in retrospect I think nailed the central theme of the piece. Explaining why it is an important episode in more ways than one.
I have issues with the series, several characters: Helo, Dualla, and Sam Anders feel somewhat underdeveloped to me.
I like Helo well enough but I couldn't begin to tell you anything about him outside of the fact that he would do ANYTHING for Sharon. And he loves Sharon because...and here's where I get foggy, because she saved him on Caprica? Shrug. Oh and he's very resourceful and a good fighter and seems to be friends with Starbuck and Apollo.

Dualla
Date: 2006-12-05 07:25 am (UTC)Dualla: He's right. You are soft. I'm not talking about the weight. You've lost your edge. Your confidence. You lost your war, lee. And the truth is, you're a soldier who needs a war. And you don't wanna hear it, because you've got it in your head that your father's the soldier. And you sure don't wanna be like him. But you are like him. You're more like him than you know. That's one of the reasons I married you.
Now that both Sam and Dualla know that they were a second choice I wonder what will happen. Lee and Kara love each other but neither may be up to taking the chance that the other will run again.
