Frustrating annoying day...but incredibly pretty outside...sigh.

Anywho..for anyone else who is a JM fan and is having a frustrating day, swiped from petzepellingo (whose lj name I can never remember how to spell):

"JAMES MARSTERS JOINS CBS HIT DRAMA WITHOUT A TRACE

James has been cast in a recurring/guest star role on the hit CBS one hour drama Without A Trace. He will portray ‘Detective Mars’, who is described as: mid 30s to 40. Attractive in a real way, a bright, full-of-life personality, charming, possibly from around the Washington DC area, so could have a slight southern accent. Mars is a Police Detective who has started to investigate what seems to be a ring of Human Trafficking. He has information our FBI team is interested in and comes to New York to speak to Vivian about what he knows. Eventually he will become part of a task force to deal with Human Trafficking. GUEST STAR, RECURRING ROLE.

The role films in both New York and Los Angeles."

Apparently they got it from his web site. Will say this much, Without A Trace is a lot more enjoyable than Saving Grace or the Law & Orders, CSI's I've tried to watch. It also has a bit more grit to it than Bones, which is weak in the writing dept. Not a huge fan of procedurals, but I don't mind this one so much.

I know the show is in syndication on TNT - which may be the reason. They may be holding up the DVD release?

It got very shippy in the fourth season apparently to boost ratings.

What is it about procedurals and situation comedies? They seem to last forever and produce like rabbits. A good cult series? You're lucky if it makes it three seasons. A procedural? It may stay on the air forever.
Actors die? No problem. Just replace them with new actors. Law & Order is what on it's 15th season? I've lost track. Same with ER.

I can't imagine the shippiness amounts to anything. CSI barely gave their ensemble characters any life at all. I guess I'm used to the cult shows where the plot is just as much about the characters relationships as it is their jobs. But procedurals--it's 99% procedures.

From what cjlasky just posted below - looks like you are right.

What you said above is pretty much why I'm not much of a fan of procedures. And can well understand why several actors don't do them - no character exploration.
