1. Has anyone figured out how to delete apps from their ipad? If so please advise.

2. In attempting to provide the Momster with an online link to the last episode of Merlin, I screwed up her email. Yes, she took the damn survey in order to watch the episode. Still didn't get the episode, but did get a lot of bad spam email. Note to self - next time advise the Momster not to
take surveys and to ignore all ads associated with the links. For the non-computer savy, watching tv shows on the internet can be frustrating. I told her that SYFY HD delayed the show a week, hope this is true. And she can catch the first episode on Syfy HD on Friday. (Be a shame if she misses it, she loves Merlin.)

3. Reading reviews of the Buffy comics is entertaining, more entertaining then reading them was.
I honestly don't think Whedon is involved with the comics that much.

I've deleted half this post, am in an insanely snarky mood...

Currently between books. Am flirting with Master and the Margritta and Steve Healy's How I Became a Famous Novelist. Master and Margritta will probably be less annoying. So going with that. The other is basically a satire for the sake of satire, and those types of books tend to annoy me. They need to be a lot shorter than they are.

press one app until it starts to wobble and gets an X in the left corner. In this state you can rearrange the apps and if you press the black X delete them. Press the button when you want to go back to normal.

Hope that helps.

I think what I assumed was a replay of Part I is a replay of Part II not listed as "New".

You might need to send Momster back to the interwebs.

ARRRGH! I have no idea how to do that. The link I sent her, I thought was fine and it turned out not to be. Have to find an ad free link which is easy to watch, and does not require any downloading. We're talking internet novice here.

You, or the Momster?

Now I am wondering what happened to episode 1 on SyFy HD. It's like they didn't play it at all because I set it up to record every instance.

And don't these silly cable stations usually replay new episodes to death over the week?

You, or the Momster?

Hee. The Momster. I'm actually pretty good at hunting and grabbing usable links. I just keep forgetting to give directions. (ie. NEVER respond to surveys and if you do? Use a false email address and provide no other info.)

Now I am wondering what happened to episode 1 on SyFy HD. It's like they didn't play it at all because I set it up to record every instance.

Look under your recording log on the DVR - it should tell you why an episode doesn't record. Often the "setup top" refuses to do it. This happened to me a lot in the fall and late summer. (Missed the Doctor Season Finale as a result, highly annoyed. Along with all it's repeats...)
I think it was caused by a glitch. I called, they fixed the communication signal, things seem to have worked more or less since then. The dang device is incredibly touchy...

And don't these silly cable stations usually replay new episodes to death over the week?

Inconsistently. Eureka gets multiple playings. Bad Syfy movies do. And so does Haven and whatever they have on after Merlin. But Merlin?
Apparently not. They just like to do insane marathons without any warning - where all of a sudden you end up with 20 Merlin episodes taped in a day while you're at work and have to come home and delete them because they've managed to overwhelm your DVR. With Merlin - you can't
DVR just "new episodes" because the DVR counts episodes airing on SYFY as repeats (original air date is the BBC airdate). So you can't win.
Stupid Syfy. It's just not DVR friendly.

I am not sure how to get to the recording log on my DVR. It's the cable company's DVR and not especially user-friendly.

Right now, I am happy to DVR and all eps of Merlin just to see season 3 and 4 with captions. Luckily, season 3 is due on DVD in the next few weeks.

I am usually not taken by surprise when an unexpected marathon of a show happens, because I tend to check my "upcoming" recordings a lot to reassure myself something I want to see is in the queue.

Wish I'd been more careful about that with last week's 4.1 Merlin.

These are just a couple that are compatible with Macs, but if you do a search on "merlin season 4 episode 1", there's a bunch of links.

The youtube link looks like the best bet.

Oh thank you. I'll send the youtube link to the Momster. She doesn't have a Mac though, just a DELL and an IPAD. So we shall see.

I am not sure why a video watched on the internet is worried about what kind of computer you have. I just threw in that comment assuming Momster didn't have a Mac, and therefore she'd have more options than I.

Sometimes it has to do with drive or operating system? I don't know. Just happy I can watch vids now without downloading - I screwed up my computer in 2002-2004 with all the stupid downloading of vids.

I think that downloads in general are safer now than they were back then, but you have to be the judge of that for yourself. Now that I know how to download a TV show episode file, bit torrent it to an avi file, and play it on my Blu Ray player, I prefer that over on-line viewing. I hate watching TV on my computer, because it makes it that much harder to use the computer at the same time.

I just wish I could figure out how to get my Blu Ray player to accept avi files with closed captions added. It still refuses to play those.

Are you transfering the avi files onto DVD - is that how you are playing them? OR direct download onto the player?

My DVD player can't read AVI at all, have to watch those on the computer and I hate watching tv shows on the computer. Haven't figured out how to do it on the ipad yet.

Probably should get a Blue Ray...but not sure the tv supports it. TV is HD, I know that.

I download them to a flash drive and insert that into the usb connection on the blu ray player. I can also burn the avi files to a DVD and play that on the blu ray.

I can't see to get those same blu rays to play on the DVD player, although I know there's a way, since friends have done them for me.

Isn't the iPad supposed to work like the iPod touch? If so you push on the icon for a few seconds, thrall icons start to shake and you press the x on the app you want to delete.

Oooh, Master and Margarita is one of my favorite books. I loved it so much back in the day, even though it's been years since I've read it.

I generally like Bulgakov a lot. But studying Russian when Master and Margarita first became popular in this country, people really over-sold it too me, and I didn't enjoy it as much as many of my friends. On the other hand I gave a copy to my father and he thought it was a riot.

Sounds like it is a comedy? Well, bound to be different from what I have been reading at any rate. Not to mention better written. The much maligned romance genre is maligned for a very good reason...;-)
