Finished watching Vamp Diaries latest episode live tonight. It fit my mood. And Klaus is growing on me, quite attractive boy and very seductive. He's the new Damon.
* Somewhat surprised to say this...nor did I ever think I would, but I actually think the dark Stefan arc works better than the Angel/Angelus bit did in Buffy S2. It's less cliche ridden and less melodramatic and you can do more with it. Also ...a bit more ambiguous not as black and white. Stefan is doing horrible things but he has a good reason. He's trying to fight the villain by being the better villain. And it worked. Klaus backed off. As Damon tells Elena, Stefan was right, Klaus blinked. But to get Klaus to blink - he terrorizes Elena, he makes her suck his blood, then threatens to drive her off the same bridge that killed her parents. The bridge he saved her from. It's not clear whether he'd have gone through with it or not. From his perspective, it doesn't matter what she thinks of him...he lost her anyway. Reminds me a great deal of Angel, but works better. Is less annoying, and feels less sexist.
* Elena goes to the bridge at the end with Matt and finds a sense of closure to what happened before, and I find myself shipping Matt and Elena. I honestly think she should go for Matt, forget Damon and Stefan and their insanity. Sure they are hot, but Matt...is growing on me.
* Speaking of romances...Tyler and Caroline have similar issues to Elena and Stefane. Note to the guys...the way to a woman's heart is not through her jugular. You don't put her through agony.
Caroline drifts towards Klaus - who saves her and gives her a nice bracelet. Tyler's inability to resist Klaus - has cost him the woman he loves. Just as Stefan's inability to resist his desire to destroy Klaus...has cost him everything. In short Klaus has succeeded in making it all about Klaus.
*Hmmm...the nasty medical examiner at the founder's council meeting who is the ex-boy friend of Alaric's new love interest ends up dead in the wood's. Stake through the heart. And shortly after ditzing new love interest. I wonder who did it? How much you want to bet it was the new love interest? Who he told Alaric was bad news and psychotic?
Oh new love interest is played by the guy who play's Stefan, real life wife. Apparently Nina Dobrev and Ian Sommerhand (Damon) are an item in real life. (I got it from an EW article.)
*Rather like Klaus at the moment...he's become interesting and somewhat complex all of a sudden.
Loved his scene with Caroline...where he seduced her into begging to live and drink his blood.
That was well written and unexpected.
Half watching Secret Circle...which isn't as good as Vamp Diaries. Shame. There's so much potential.

Bad Stefan is really trying to be bad, which does make him a lot more interesting than mooning around over Elena. And I loved the way he just sliced off the head of the hybrid in front of Klaus.
Secret Circle is going back to the fire of 16 years ago next week. Now that's something I'm looking forward to.
