Just a quick pop-in to wish happy holidays, I know I missed the Hannuaka wishes, sorry about that. So a belated on Happy Hannuaka.(Which I probably spelled wrong to boot.)
Had a lovely day (after my father came back from the doc who told him to drink more water to stave off the low blood pressure and heart arithmia he'd been suffering from off and on all week) - we chose to have lunch outside at one of the harbors, and look at the boats. A nice walk around a lake, watching a snowy egret and a blue heron fish. And making home-made ice cream. This instead of seeing Avatar. It was, we decided far too lovely a day to stay indoors. And it is supposed to rain all day tomorrow and tonight.
So, I ate outside, walked along the harbor and a small lake, looking at birds, and green grass and pine trees, with a light jacket (59/60 degrees) on Xmas Eve.
Now Momster is busy making the traditional laszna that we have had every Xmas Eve since I can remember...except two - in Australia, and at my brother's house.
For desert homemade ice cream instead of pie.
Happy Holidays...

Date: 2009-12-25 03:47 pm (UTC)Just spoke with my cousin, who drove down from the Chicago area to Asheville a couple of days ago...he says that he has a foot of snow on the ground in North Carolina - the most they've ever had, but is thankful he got past the ice and freezing rain in Chicago.
And there's a blizzard in Kansas City. Very happy my parents chose to relocate to sunny (okay not so sunny today - it's raining) Hilton Head.
Will have to go back to snowy NYC tomorrow.
