Well, got to work fine. Subways and trains running, and the streets mostly clear - slushy, but plowed. The City's Sanitation Dept did it's job - actually they went nuts. Many streets, including side streets were plowed twice this round. The sidewalks were another story...some shoveled, some not. You could tell who got up to go to work this morning and who didn't. In Brooklyn? We got about 9-10 inches. Long Island - specifically Suffolk County - which is towards the end of Long Island - got it the worse - 20-25. It was still snowing quite hard this morning out there. Work is a bit of a ghost town today. Only about 20 people made it in, out of 75 in my department. (They did bring in 600 last night to clear the tracks, and coordinate, etc. Cots were brought out and set up in different buildings, so people could lie down and rest, if need be. As a result, few trains were cancelled and it was mostly smooth sailing for folks who weren't too far out on the Island.)

Not getting a ton done. Slow day. But what the hell. Sort of need one after the craziness of the last four.

Watched No Ordinary Family last night - which I realized that I'm still watching solely for a small little subplot...Katie and Joshua. Katie is the geeky and viriginal lab tech working under Julie Benze's lead mom character (whose name escapes me). Yes, shocking, tv has actually written a smart, sexy, character over the age of 25 who is still a virgin, will wonders ever cease? And one which we aren't making rude jokes about? Gasp! (Yes, unbelievable as the media makes it, there are actually quite a large number of people out there like this, you in fact most likely know several of them - they just are being quiet about it, because you know - PRIVATE). Joshua is the bad guy's henchman (played by the guy who used to play the lead on Seventh Heaven - hee) who he's been using to either kill off people he can't control, people who know too much, or to just spy for him. Bad Guy happens to be Katie and Julie Benze's boss or head of Research Center (except they don't know he's the bad guy.) Bad Guy has asked Joshua to get close to Katie in order to obtain information on Julie's research. Except Joshua has fallen in love with Katie, and told Bad Guy that's he's out, he's ashamed of the horrible things he did in order to keep the super-powers Bad Guy had gifted him with. That he thought he couldn't live without the powers, but he just found something better - Katie. Bad Guy says Katie would never go for him, if she knew what he was and what he'd done. Joshua states - we'll see. He goes back to Katie, apologizes for leaving when she revealed she was still a virgin, that he had to make a choice - and he choose her. Unfortunately, Katie, whose fallen for Joshua, discovers while sniffing his clothes, that he stole Julie's research journal.

Best bit? When they are dating, and ordering cocktails - Katie explains her cocktail is either from the Romulain district or Tatoonie. Katie's awesome.
Now if only the rest of the show was...but it's regrettably not, the bits with the family are somewhat cliche. Daphne's running for school president and uses her superpowers to figure out what the kids want (yawn). JJ punches a guy to impress a smart girl. Mom and Dad have to decide whether to turn in a new friend who is an art thief. They all angst about this. Next week Dad's bro, Jim, shows up and uses JJ's genius abilities to gamble and win money.
(Sigh).

Am thisclose to giving up on the thing, would have already, except for the Katie/Joshua bit which is sort of intriguing me.

Also saw Merlin - which Momster got me hooked on. Rather good. The relationship between Merlin and the Dragon is part of the reason we're hooked. We also like Katie McGrath's Gwen, and Arthur and Merlin friendship.
Plus Anthony Stewart Head - who if I'd cast as Haymitch in The Hunger Games.
Although he might be a little old for the part.
