Spent most of the day watching Misfits episodes on my computer and laying about in the sunshine streaming through my windows. Bitterly cold and gunky outside - so did not venture out.

After scanning and reading the vast majority of reviews on Buffy Issue 40? I don't know. Not sure if I'll buy it or not. On the one hand - I have all 39 issues and have literally written reviews on all 39, seems weird not to do the last one. On the other...the recaps and summaries I've read on the plot in various reviews...doesn't exactly make me want to rush out and buy, let alone own the thing (which is an understatement). What do you think? Should I or shouldn't I? Eh, I'll do what I want anyway...as you well know. Not that you care....do people care? Online correspondence is a funky thing.

I can upload the zipfile if you want to read it and not pay for the darn thing. (I do that on sheer principle of refusing to give Dark Horse money for this crap)

Thanks, tempting but no...I find it easier to read the things in hard-copy for some reason. (It gives me a headache trying to read it online.) Otherwise I would definitely take you up on the offer - since I feel more or less the same way about Dark Horse and unfortunately, Mr. Whedon.

It all sounds hella depressing. Years of messy plotting have led us to what? Buffy, stuck in a dead end job and feeling isolated and unsure of anything in her life except slaying? Well, there's a story that's never been told before. I also suspect that the lesson that Joss and co. is taking from the dropping sales and poor fan reaction is that the audience wants characters back at some earlier version of themselves rather than, say, a well-structured story and emotional arcs that make sense.

That was in part my reaction to the summaries and recaps as well.

Agree. I'm thinking much the same thing myself. And...The positive reviews I've read seem to support that theory. Which may be even more depressing.

I'd say buy it so you have a complete set - that way they should be easier to sell if you want rid of them later... ;)

Good point. Not sure anyone who hasn't read them is going to want everything but the final issue. LOL!

I read it for completism, but I stop buying around 25. Speaking as a completist I'd also say get it, so you can sell them more easily.

I'm already trying to get rid of mine as well as the DH omnibuses I own. Don't really need them to clutter up my place.
