Here's a link to a rather good post in the feminist community journal that I'm watching - by a thirty-something British artist living in Egypt and posting about the protests.

Go here for the post: http://community.livejournal.com/feminist/3255818.html (it's not really about feminism so much as about what is really happening over there from a non-media perspective or a perspective that hasn't been filtered through the media.

The meme below, I ganked from petzipellepingo:

1. If you were able to visit one moment of history, when would it be? Would it be an actual event, or just to see the normal lifestyle?

Hmmm. Hard one. I think I'd go back to see the Beatles perform in Mets Stadium in 1960s or David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust Tour. Or to hear Martin Luther King, Jr. speak in DC - also 1960s.

2. Who are your favourite 3 pairings in Buffy?

* Buffy/Spike
* Cordelia/Xander
* Giles/Jenny

Honorable mention: Spike/Angelus, Faith/Angel, Dru/Spike

3. If you won the lottery (or were given a large sum of money) what one thing would you buy ... or do ... with your house? (eg a painting, a new table, a new ktchen...)

I'd buy a condo. Don't own a house or condo. Working on that. So I'd basically buy one - preferably in Brooklyn Heights, Greenwich Village, Battery City Park/Tribeca or Central Park West.

4. If you could go to the Concert/Gig of anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?

David Bowie perform in concert or The Who.

5. Have you met any celebs, and if so, would you want to see them again?

Yes - I've met them. No, don't want to see them again. They are just people doing a job that happens to put them in the public eye and make a lot of money. I admittedly don't understand the whole fannish bit about meeting celebs and getting their autographs, etc. Never have.

Went to New York two years ago and fell in love(not original I know, but I don't care :-)) with this town or more exactly with what I saw from it and visited Brooklyn Heights so I understand your choice.

"David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust Tour. Or to hear Martin Luther King, Jr. speak in DC - also 1960s. " I don't know how to make these little hearts signs, so consider there's one big heart there!

Sigh. Yes, very much in love with this area. But difficult to afford.
The other places I fell in love with were London's Hyde Park and Convent Garden districts...along with the West End, and Paris.

Hee. Haven't been able to figure out to make them sing either.
Thanks!
