My inner geek squeed with delight upon learning that ABC had greenlight the following:

* a new Wonder Woman by David E. Kelly starring Adrianne Paliki of Friday Night Lights, where she is a vigilante and a successful career woman.

* 17th Precinct about detectives solving crimes in a magical world (aka Harry Dresden Files without Harry and focusing on the cops in the Special Unit). This is by Rob Moore (BSG fame) and Jamie Bamber (Lee Adama) has signed on.

YAY! Now let's hope they are good and get picked up.

The Good Wife was quite good. As always. Go read [livejournal.com profile] selenak for a review - she does it, so I don't have to. The episode made me laugh because it satirized Aaron Sorkin and made fun of him. Basically did to Sorkin what Sorkin did to Zuckerberg in The Social Network, but at the same time commented on doing it. This show is well-written, unlike most serialized dramas- it tracks, it is detailed, and the legal stuff actually rings true. Did miss the campaign, but I got the bits I missed on CBS.com. Oh and this show still has amazingly good character actor guest stars - this week F. Murray Abraham and Rita Wilson, next week Jerry Stiller and Gary Cole and someone else I can't remember.

Justified equally excellent last week. Of course the story was co-written by Elmore Leonard who is also executive producing. Tight writing. Great dialogue. And excellent character actors. Danial Faraday of Lost Fame has popped up in a supporting role on Justified. Yay!

Plus..on Parenthood - Michael Emerson who played Ben on Lost popped up as a Bug Expert with Ausperger's Syndrom who runs children's events. He was marvelous. I love that actor. (Yes, some people love the cute leading actors, I go for the interesting character actors who aren't that pretty. It's the frustrated theater-geek (eh, make that theater-nerd) in me, I suspect.)

Also, CW introduced me to a new writer that I may try - YA fantasy novels - called Graceling.

Here's the description from her blog: Graceling, my debut novel, is the story of Katsa, who has been able to kill people with her bare hands since she was eight. Katsa lives in the seven kingdoms, where very occasionally, a person is born with an extreme skill called a Grace. Gracelings are feared and exploited in the seven kingdoms, and none moreso than Katsa, who's expected to do the dirty work of torture and punishment for her uncle, King Randa. But then she meets a mysterious stranger named Po, who is also a Graced fighter and the first person ever to challenge her in a fight. The two form a bond, and each discovers truths they never imagined about themselves, each other, and a terrible danger that is spreading slowly through the seven kingdoms.

Reminds me a little of The Hunger Games. Yes, I like dark heroines - it's a thing.

You want them to be GOOD AND PICKED UP?

Ah sweeties, it's nice to have dreams :-)

Will cross my fingers for you though.

Still under Willow & Tara's spell,
Ray.
