At loose ends, my realtor cancelled our 5:30pm apt at the last minute on me again - so we're seeing the place on Sunday (apparently going to church in this society has become a weird thing to do on Sundays), I guess. She keeps asking to start at 12, I keep pushing to 1. This apartment hunting bit is nightmarish. It's always nightmarish looking for a new place to live, regardless of the circumstances - sometimes just more nightmarish than others.

Saw The Good Wife and whoa, did not see that plot-twist coming (although I suppose I should have) and I'm not entirely certain it tracks. The whole Blake plot thread never quite worked for me - it feels off somehow.

For some reason relationship drama is harder for writers to plot than regular drama. Although...I guess it tracks more or less. It just feels a bit...contrived. Am on the fence regarding this new plot development/twist. Feels awfully soap operaish, with twinges of melodrama to me. I may change my mind - we shall see how it plays out. It could work. Should go read selenak's review of it, shouldn't I?[ETA: I'm back - great review by selenak over here:http://selenak.livejournal.com/672945.html. And in the comments, ab_nagile nails why I had issues with the plot-twist. Why write a review when someone else can do it for you?]

Also, MAC Users??? How do you turn back on the audio on youtube and the net, when it got turned off? I can't figure this out on the Mac. Dell was fairly easy, here there's no icon.

Sound on a Mac: there are a few places to change this setting:

1. On the keyboard, F3 is the "mute" shortcut. F4 turns it back on (or down). F5 turns it back on (or up).
2. There is an icon at the top of your screen that looks like a speaker (toward the right, perhaps 3-4 icons in). Click on that and adjust the slider bar.
3. Select "System Preferences" from the Apple menu (top left), then select "sound".

Hmm. I tried all that. I can hear volumn - such as the audio book I'm playing on it. But it won't let me hear anything played on the internet. It's almost as if itunes is cancelling it out, even though they aren't playing at the same time.

I'm glad rebcake responded because I don't have the laptop, I have the iMac where her suggestions # 2 & 3 apply, but my keyboard has 'mute' at f10, quieter at f11, and louder at f12.

It is frustrating that your realtor hasn't quite accepted that you make going to Church on Sunday a priority. AND it is frustrating that she has been canceling out on appointments lately, but hopefully that is just some temporary problem and she'll make up for it by taking you to some good possibilities soon.

She did give me this new buyfolio system that works beautifully for finding apt's, discussing them, and reviewing which to see or not see. Can't blame her too much for the apt viewing schedules - it's not completely within her control - most realtors schedule viewings on Sundays, another day tends to be Wed. And they do it at the convenience of the owners.

With the no sound on YouTube thing I had that once and the internets told me to try launching GarageBand (it comes bundled with most Macs) and then quitting it. It worked. I have no idea why. Otherwise running a permissions repair in the disk utilities programme (Applications-Utilities) might help.
