May. 25th, 2011 08:31 pmRather impressed by the Ringer promo - although it does have a major spoiler at the end of it...

The story is about a recovering drug addict who visits her twin sister while on the run from the mob. But the sister's life isn't what it appears to be. Which she discovers when she takes it over. The promo is good and they've got a rather good supporting cast around Gellar.
Lovely day today, but depressing and frustrating work wise. Discovered not getting that extra week of vacation until 2013. It's a stupid union rule that I didn't figure out until today (because the rule is written in a manner that makes no logical sense). Have I told you that my union sucks? It does. We have the worst and weakest union and that's out of 133 unions. I'm stuck with 10 days, plus 3 personal days (which I can't take together or next to the vacation days) until 2013. Should look on the bright side - still have a job. A lot of people don't. 150,000 in NYC at last count are homeless, 50% are under the age of 20. Been noticing the ranks of the homeless climbing for quite some time now. Feel a bit guilty whining over vacation time. I hugged my tiny Kermit stuffed animal that sits on my computer harddrive at work to comfort myself. I bought him at work to support the March of Dimes. And since I can't figure out who to give him to, he's stayed at work along with a tiny stuffed bull-dog. I'm rather attached to him now, so I'll probably keep him. He's really not Kermit, darker green, ribbed, and a frog with a yellow spot on his belly, but he makes me think of Kermit.
Not sure what I'm doing with myself this coming weekend, after the last two weekends which were quite busy, am tempted to veg...and do serious me time. So am procrastinating planning stuff. But since there are no open houses (realtors scamper to the beach on Memorial Day weekend), it is a good weekend to do other stuff like maybe see a movie (haven't seen Thor yet and everyone who has seen it on flist appears to love it - which is curious, since Thor doesn't strike me as the type of movie that would be well "good"? It looks sort of cheesy actually. But the reviews are the opposite. Probably be more fun than seeing Terence Malik's Tree of Life - which will most likely just depress me) and wander about Central Park or the Highline? OR just wander about the parks in Brooklyn? Ponders.
Marathoned most of True Blood S3 on Monday - and came to the conclusion that Eric is definitely more interesting and hotter than Bill Compton. Also a tad less sexist. Actually more than a tad. I honestly do not understand what Sookie sees in Bill. Not all that crazy about Sookie though - stupid character in both the books and the tv series - although well played by Anna Paquin. Her brother is equally dumb, but incredibly attractive and adorable so we sort of forgive him for being a himbo. My favorite characters are Eric, Tara, Pam, Sam, and Lafayette. I adore Tara. Tara kicked ass. And I agree with Tara in regards to both Sookie and Bill. In some respects I prefer this season to last season - even if it is less satirical. Debbie Pelt I could have done without - but she's more understated here, at least, than in the books. Highly annoying in the books. Here you don't get that much of her - to really care one way or the other. Alcide is just pretty. Oh - and Eric's calculated and expertly planned not to mention timed revenge on Russell - LOL! Russell is a cool villain.
Have decided to wait until Sat to watch last Sat's Doctor Who - that way can watch two-parter more or less back to back.
