Okay, Subrogatory was a pleasant surprise. Hands down the best situation comedy this year.
Hilarious throughout. Tessa is a find. The voice over - reminded me a bit of Heathers meets Mean Girls, and the father/daughter relationship banter right out of Gilmore Girls.

Yes there were a few cringe moments - the stereotypical bra bit, and Cheryl Hines whose voice sounds like someone scratching a nail down a chalkboard, but I'm guessing that's deliberate.

But the rest of it? Witty comedy gold. It brought back fond memories of Winona Ryder in Heathers. Also the Gilmore Girls.

When the teen daughter tells her Dad that by moving her to the suburbs, he ruined her life, I was reminded of what my brother said when he chose to move his family to the suburbs when Cedar was a baby, "I better do it now, if I wait until she's older, she'll hate me for it." LOL! Too true.

Kudos to ABC for landing by far the best situation comedy I've seen this season. Interesting characters, strategic and realistic use of the ever present and necessary sex jokes, and appealing stars. Proves there are a few comedy writers out there who know how to do "wit".

Nice to laugh all through one of these for a change. I needed that.

A+

I really enjoyed Suburgatory too.... I love the Father & daughter, and of course Alan Tudyk makes a great best friend. The neighbors are grating and annoying, but that is the point (and that bra looked ugly and uncomfortable to me... but I guess it was supposed to represent something that she had never felt she could get for herself). I think they have a lot to explore, so I'm hoping it will continue being comedy gold.

I liked Free Agents (a good cast really makes a difference) too....
