shadowkatThe mass internet protest against SOPA and IPA sort of worked. IT made the Senate and Congress do more than blink. No longer is the majority in support of the bill. Oddly although if you think about it, maybe not so ironically, more Republicans are against the bill than Democrats. Republicans tend to be libertarians by nature and somewhat suspicious of laws.. Also they are negative against anything brought by Democrats.
I'm not a libertarian - because, hello, extremist. I'm a moderate in all things. And against SOPA/PIPA because it was too broad and hurt people who were innocent. I defend human rights. My State Senators, Democrats, are for the bill. But I let them know I wasn't. As did millions of others. We fought back. The Internet SCREAMED NO! And it got results, now 33 Senators are against it, and quite a few in the House. They've sent it back to workshop for more reworking. YAY!
