The Grammy's weren't as good as last years, in part because a lot of musicians were protesting due to the elimination of various categories which pissed everyone off.

That said there were some interesting moments.

*I'm still not sure what to make of Niki Minage's Roman Holiday Performance. Except that the music gave me a headache. Not a huge rap fan. Prefer Lady Gaga's musical numbers and weirdness. But not boring and far more interesting than Gaga's Born this Way number last year.

*Paul McCartney singing Golden Slumbers with Bruce Springsteen and the Foo Fighters, then participating in a guitare strumming contest was fun. (Sort of wish the Rolling Stones were there. I'd love to see McCartney play with the Stones.)

*Taylor Swift's rendition of "Mean" prompted me to buy it.

*The Tribute to Glenn Campbell - using the song Rhinestone Cowboy, while far from stellar - looked like so much fun - I wanted it too. Fit of nostalgia folks.

*Adele's voice is truly amazing. I can see why she swept the awards, really didn't have that much competition. Sorry not a fan of others...outside of maybe Rhianna and of course Mumford and Sons, they fail to impress. (Odd Mumford and Sons, Lady Gaga,
and Lady Antbellum did not perform this year. Considering Lady Antebellum won that's weird.)

*Paul McCartney's rendition of Valentine, prompted me NOT to buy his new album. He was not at his best tonight. The Grammy's has horrid accoustics. Did however get the Wings Greatest Hits.

*Too much electronica. They couldn't do a Don Corielus tribute with Soul? The electronica, which I do like on occassion, gave me a headache. Although the Mickey Mouse singer was definitely interesting. Odd. But interesting.

* Jennifer Hudson's tribute to Whitney Houston was touching, even if that song gets on my nerves...it's beautiful don't get me wrong. It was just over-played. There's a couple that have been - the Celine Dione number from Titantic, My Heart Will Always Go On? That's the other one. And The Greatest Love of All. Ugh. But Hudson's voice, beautiful.

Other than that? Sort of dull. Where were the blue-grass? The indie rock? Too much Katy Perry (she performed twice), too much Rhianna, too much Foo Fighters (who were this year's Black Eyed Peas). At least we had Tony Bennett and Paul McCartney, but both are showing their age. They are last year's Bob Dylan. I liked last year's better. Still need to figure out what song Pink performed that year she was up - I loved that song, but don't remember the name of it - dang it. If you know what I'm talking about...please chime in.

Okay off to bed. Thank god I have tomorrow off. Sleeping in. Then researching singing lessons and exercise programs.

I don't follow the Grammies, but that list looks rather bad apart from Adele. Just staying in the female vocals somewhat similar music category, what about Florence and the Machine?

Had much the same reaction. I remember thinking...well of course she's going to sweep she has no competition.

They did a huge disservice to many artists by forcing the male and female groups and singers to compete against each other. Also soloists vs. bands.

We ended up getting a lot of mainstream pop favorites as a result, which made for a very boring awards ceremony.
