Had decided to go shopping today, pretty day, but feeling queasy this morning with a slightly nasaeous sinus headache, so maybe not. For me to go clothes shopping, I have to be in the perfect mood. Or it will be a miserable experience. I hate clothes shopping. I do not fit the stereotype...women who love to shop and are into clothes, the only things I love to shop for are DVDs, CDS, and books - which I can now do online and have electronically delivered to the kindle or itunes. But somewhat bored with wardrobe again. And there are great sales. We shall see. Store doesn't open until 10 anyhow. I can take my time.

Checking out NY1's theater reviews...still trying to figure out which productions I want to see.

I do not fit the stereotype

You and me both. If one more person says, "Oh you are tall, you must fit all the clothes" I'm gonna yell at them or something.

You know what's weird, I've had more success finding clothes in the larger junior's sizes than I have in women's sizes. I have no idea why that should work that way, but it sometimes does.

The problem with women's sizes is they are made for women who are 5'6 and 180 pounds or more, not 6 foot and over 190 pounds. Also people think if you are 6 foot, you are obviously a size 8. No. We aren't all built like Gwenyth Paltrow. So you get short pants and a huge waist yet tight in the thighs. It's bizarre. There's a women's boutigue near me but I can't fit in one thing. They either fall off me or they are too tight in the bust and hips - I'm high waisted and low busted, with broad shoulders.

Lord & Taylor's Juniors works better. So I go there first, then to the women's and mix and match.

Decided to skip the clothes shopping and buy a new disk rack, microwavable egg poachers, bacon crisper, dish dry cloth, knife sharpener, thermostate, and peeps (purple chicken peeps - because apparently I need my cocaine sugar fix.) The dish rack is lovely - its bamboo, and the microwavable egg poachers are shaped like eggs with little chick faces on them, the bacon crisper is pink with a little pig face. They are so cute. Made by Joie. (I'm such a foodie. It's criminal that I have a tiny kitchen.
Criminal!)

I'm not much a fan of shopping either. I go a few times a year if I get a really great coupon or I'm desperately in need of new things-- it hit 85 a few weeks ago and I realized I had no shorts, for example. But I much prefer shopping for books or art supplies.

Good luck? Hopefully there won't be obnoxious crowds. The only thing worse than shopping normally is shopping when there are a million people.

Hee, I decided to forgo it, headache drove me away. And it's too pretty a day for a mall. So just walked ten blocks to buy kitchen stuff. A lovely bamboo
dish rack, amongst other things.

It's in the 50s, sunny, crystal blue sky. Everything is budding. Haven't hit the 80s yet, unlike the rest of the country - NYC has stayed fairly mild.
