Hee...I was right about who Doctor Whale is... He's Doctor Frankenstein or Victor Frankenstein. I knew the clue was Whale - James Whale, the legendary director of the old classic Frankenstein flick. There was a bit of a mislead regarding the Wizard of OZ...but I'm guessing he's someone else. And I'm beginning to root for Hook to get his revenge on Rumple, who along with Cora is turning out to be the true villain of this piece.

Doctor Frankenstein who is science vs. Rumplestilskin, who is the Wizard of magic. Interesting - they really are referencing all stories. Now that Frankenstein has appeared, will we get Dracula at some point?

And oh, I'm becoming even more convinced that Peter Pan is Rumple's kid. And possibly still Henry's Dad. The Peter Pan syndrom? Emma sort of references it in regards to Henry's father in S1.

It's not based on Shelley's novel at all - they based it on the films of director James Whale (that's why he's called Dr. Whale). It's the film mythology not the books. Which is actually true of all the stories in Storybrook - they are all based on the film versions or the mythology from the films not necessarily the books. (Mainly because I think the writers were film majors not English Lit majors. LOL!)

I wouldn't mind Spike showing up...they could even hire Marsters to play a human version of the character who forgot who he was.
