I think this poll basically just proves how out of the fandom loop I currently am. But what the heck. With any luck more than five people will play. I decided to be radical and not pit Buffy/Angel vs. Buffy/Spike or Damon/Elena vs. Stefan/Elena. Because that's been done to death. I did however pit Katniss/Peeta vs. Katniss/Gale, but also pitted them against Crichton/Aeryn - who I think fits in the Friends to Romance category, not the bantering our way to tru love category. One of the phrases I used in the poll is from a Florence and the Machine Song - guess which one?

I had to vote 'other' in the first one, because I couldn't in good conscience vote for any of the options available.... Let's put Peter Parker/Mary Jane Parker-Watson in as that option.

Normally I vote a straight BtVS ticket, but John/Aeryn beats everything anywhere.

I couldn't vote for any in the first category either, so I vote for Lois and Clark.

I've wracked my brain (which I hate doing this late at night) and basically I don't believe in ANY true love scenarios... if I was forced to I would go with the extremely boring/unimaginative Lois/Clark/Superman.

I'm much more into the whole friends to lovers thing, and I liked most of your examples for that one.... so I just voted for Fred/Wes because I thought they deserved a vote.

Until recently, I would always have chosen Spike/Angel as the best bromance, but the last season of True Blood changed all that. Bill/Eric4evah!

I don't know ships other than ocean liners, freighters, tankers, and battleships. So I didn't vote. But I did notice Harry Potter and Ginny under "just friends leads to romance." Actually I felt almost from the second book on that Rowling purposely avoided having them ever be friends as opposed to Hermione and Ron who were friends, even if in an arms length kind of way in the early years. Harry and Ginny weren't much more friends than say Percy and Harry were. Ginny always seemed determined to marry Harry, though they barely spoke a word to each other for many years. So for a not-much-help comment, I'd probably list them under "one tru love" romance even though they wouldn't have a prayer of winning.

Tara and Pam were one of the best things about this season of True Blood.

I would have voted Spike/Angel in best bromance but I had to go other because Merlin/Arthur has taken over my brain. I also kind of prefer Steve Rogers and Tony Stark with other people. (I hate to do this but there is no 'd' in Rogers)

Not sure Peter Parker and Mary Jane qualify, Gwen Stacy/Peter maybe.
PP and MJ are more friends to lovers romance...if I remember the comics correctly, granted I've forgotten most of them. The Sam Rami movies, on the other hand? Yeah.

True. Reason I only put it under one category...I carefully avoided pitting it against Spike/Buffy - because then I'd have to choose, and I'd have to choose John/Aeryn.

Thinking Lana Lane/Clark or Peter Parker/MJ work better. Lois and Clark is bit too adult for that category. (Although so is Sookie and Bill...technically speaking.) I just tend to think of it as tweeny romance...;-)

You could have skipped number one. At least I think you could have.
Not sure Lois/Clark works...too adult. Lana Lang/Clark definitely.
We're talking first love...here.

True. The piggy-back ride through the French Quarter was admittedly priceless.
I did still go with Spangle, however...

I admittedly can't remember. You're most likely right. Probably should have put them under category one - which would have given the people who hate category one someone to vote for, which apparently is 90% of the people who voted.

Sorry, I got him confused with the Australian politician. I keep wanting to put a "D" in Rogers for some reason. It's because I know a few Rodgers I suspect.

Forgot all about Merlin/Arthur - Merlin doesn't pop up again in US until next year.

Agreed - Tara and Pam rock.
