My Year in Fandom...

Your main fandom of the year?

Eh...probably Doctor Who and Game of Thrones. Although puttered in the Vampire Diaries and Breaking Bad but only in the peripheral sense - those fandoms much like Supernatural's - scare me.


Your favorite film you watched this year?

Tie: Les Miserables and The Hunger Games - which I keep flirting with buying on DVD.
(Although Life of Pi is a close third).

Your favorite book read this year?

Declare the Fifth - or I refuse to answer because I may incriminate myself.

Your favorite album or song to listen to this year?

Oh too many...was addicted to Mein Heir (Caberet), Empty Chairs at Empty Tables (Les Miz),
Virgin State of Mind, The Scientist, but mainly...my favorite album was The Hunger Games album - some truly great songs on that.

Your favorite tv show of the year?

The Good Wife (which doesn't have a fandom as far as I know). Close behind it? Breaking Bad (which does have a fandom but it scares me, so I pretend it does not exist).

Yet, oddly, the only ones I buy on DVD are Doctor Who and Game of Thrones. (so who am I kidding? While I love Good Wife and Breaking Bad...I have no interest in rewatching any of the episodes...so how can these be favorites?)

So favorite tv shows are most likely Game of Thrones, Doctor Who and Sherlock.

Shows that are guilty pleasures? Once Upon a Time, Revenge, Vamp Diaries, and True Blood.

Funniest show? Big Bang Theory

Your best new fandom discovery of the year?

Eh...don't really have one. All are pre-existing. Was pleasantly surprised by Les Miz, Hunger Games, and Skyfall.

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?

The Hobbit (hoping the next film in the series is a bit better)

Your fandom boyfriend of the year?

George RR Martin...he charms me. So laid back and generous. Also quite impressed by Hugh Jackman, Aaron Paul and Daniel Craig.

Close second: Ian Sommerhandler - sigh. That boy is just pretty. So for that matter is Alexander Skarsdale (Eric), and the guy who plays Jaime on Game of Thrones. But I'm admittedly half in love with Louis CK. LOL!

Your fandom girlfriend of the year?

I don't know...River Song? Amy Pond? Ayra Stark? Tara from True Blood? Diane from Good Wife? Jennifer Lawrence's portrayal of Katniss Everdeen?

Your biggest squee moment of the year?

Life of Pi and Les Miz.

The most missed of your old fandoms?

Buffy/Angel/Whedon. I miss the philosophical/psychological analysis not the stupid shipper fights.

Other fandoms scare me for some reason. Except Doctor Who and Game of Thrones, which I keep flirting with.

The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?

Homeland (haven't seen it yet) - although the fandom may scare me. So show yes, fandom no.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year?

Game of Thrones - S3, best of the books.
Kim Harrison's next book in the Rachel Morgan series - Ever After
Defiance - the new Sci-Fi series with Julie Benze as a sheriff
