Another warm day, although as I get older...I've begun to prefer warm days to cold ones. For various reasons. One prefer sun. Two prefer warmth to cold. Three prefer air conditioning to radiator heat. And the arthritis doesn't act up, so I don't hurt. This may mean a change in plans regarding where I decide to reside in my latter years. Andlucci, Spain might be nice but it would help if I knew Spainish.

Still watching Falling Skies - and tv shows really need to stop type-casting certain actors as villains. After a certain point, you know a character is a bad-guy just by the actor they've hired to portray him. This happened with both Steven Webber and now Matt Cverchy in Falling Skies. Matt Cverchy is currently Grayson on Revenge and is always playing a bad guy.

Five minutes into the episode Sanctuary Part I - I knew that Clayton (Matt Czerchy)'s
plan was fishy. Then the plan..."oh give me your kids, I'll take them to this great sanctuary, so that when the bad guys attack you...your kids will be safe". Yeah right. I'm at a point now that if I was in an actual situation in which this occurred, I would say no way in hell. Seen too many sci-fi movies and Westerns that played that card.

Sci-Fi has pretty much taken over the Western genre. They are basically the same - you have the gun-toting hero, the aliens/Indians, and the Outlaws. Sci-Fi is easier to watch - for obvious reasons. But the tropes are about the same.

Likely everything else about the series is fairly good. And it does have a sense of humor.

Pregnant woman: I was single, decided wanted to have a kid, too a while to find right sperm donor, I got pregnant, 6 months later aliens invaded the planet. I mean who knew?

Kids are dealt with well here, a lot of sci-fi has no idea what to do with children. BSG ignored them completely. Caprica had a few nice twists. Revolution also appears to ignore them unless they hot 20 something teens. Here, small kids are handled well and some of the most compelling actors - a rarity that.
