Didn't sleep last night, so fell asleep while watching first episode of The Tudors, and conked out for more than 3 1/2 hours. Now am groggy and attempting, with not much success, to convince myself to make dinner. There's a reason I don't take naps.

In other news, in the 21st Century, someone finally convinced Nabisco to try out Watermelon Oreo Cookies, of course this shouldn't come as too great a surprise, they did try candy corn a few years back.

For the Paula Deen fans out there, are there any left? The Food Network Cancelled Her Series and she's apparently attempted with little success to air an apology on youtube which keeps getting pulled.

I've never been a Paula Deen fan (I only watched her show once, when Michelle Obama was on it), her fried everything & too much butter style cooking doesn't even look good to me....
But I cannot forget that back in 2008, when President Obama was running for President, and the Republicans were trying to portray Michelle as an 'angry Black woman', Paula Deen was the first one to invite Michelle Obama on her show. It was a lovely relaxed segment about cooking foods Michelle loves; I thought it really helped the campaign.

Personally it is my theory that Paula Deen is on some medication that is effecting her judgement... because the original discussion about the 'n' word and the plantation style wedding was insane. But then her apologies have been even worse (it is like she is demented).

The difficulty with Paula Deen is she's come out as a bit of a hypocrite recently. Example - pushed butter and fat, yet it was discovered she had type 2 diabetes for 10 years and was not eating the food she was pushing.
Then the racist and sexist comments, which she said off-the-record or off camera.

She reminds me of a lot of people I've met in my lifetime, who are "rednecks". They have a bit an off-color way of talking that can be interpreted as racist and offensive. But it runs counter to the image she's presenting to the public.

Oh yeah, I'm sure you're right... I hadn't even realized about the diabetes scam (hiding her condition while promoting high cholesterol foods seems kind of sick...).
*sigh*
