Went the non-traditional route with food this year.

For lunch: sauteed shrimp (with tumeric/lime/ground pepper/sea salt) in butter/coconut oil with mook radish and green onion, over spicy greens, with avocado. Lime juice as dressing.

For dinner:

lamb chops with rosemary and pepper
artichock with rosemary butter/coconut oil
green bean with dill

For desert:

apple, with walnuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, butter and lemon juice.

To drink - Bengal herbal tea, or water with lime or lemon.

Also watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade - which seems more like a huge ad or marketing campaign every single year. Didn't see co-worker, but didn't expect to. At least she got to carry the Snoopy balloon though.

Just winging it. ;-)

Except for the artichoke, which I couldn't remember how to cook - so looked it up in The New Betty Crocker Cookbook, which has nifty tips on those sorts of things. (Turns out to be rather easy, you just cut off the stem, cut off the top, trim the tips, and steam in one inch of water in a big pot on the stove. (It called for a dutch over and a steamer basket - but I don't have one, so I improvised.) )

Like everything else - I tend cook intuitively. Mainly because recipes stress me out - they ask for things I can't find and don't have, plus seem to require a huge kitchen with multiple appliances and cooking utensils.
So much easier to do it intuitively...but keep in mind I tend to prefer to do everything intuitively...
