I need to stop reading smartbitches on lj. They keep telling me about cheap deals on the Kindle, and I end up doing impulse buys. Latest?

* Oh Where Did You Go, Bernadette? - for $3.99. Which is a steal. It normally goes for $14.99
and I've been meaning to read it.

* Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling - for $3.99 - again a steal. It normally goes for $18.99.

* The Rosie Project - a popular and very subversive contemporary romance between a scientist with ausperger's syndrome and an off-beat woman. For $1.99.

Also ordered samples of various diet related books - How to Feel Good by Candace Pert, although I'm tempted by the Molecules of Emotion by Candace Pert - which is a non-fiction account of the author's struggles as a woman in the field of neuroscience, and
her discovery of the peptide and receptors that link emotion to the gut, or how the body and mind are linked. The other sample was "Good Calories, Bad Calories" rec'd by shipperx.

I really shouldn't be allowed to shop on a Kindle without supervision. And yes, I know, I should be checking them out electronically via the library - but the library only gives me two weeks to read them. And it usually takes me longer than that - since I tend to read in snatches, ie. on subways, trains, waiting for subways and trains, or in bed.

Bernadette is a wonderful book. The first few pages I was a bit doubtful about the style but it quickly hooked me in.

I remembered your review and decided to grab it when it was so cheap.
Hopefully the Kindle version is well-edited.
