Does anyone who lives in NY - know why our local PBS channel, Channel 13, is not showing the David Tennant Masterpiece Theater series "The Escape Artist"? Instead the listing is for Do Wop Music in the 1940s or 1950s.

[Note to Channel 13 - this is not how you get and keep subscribers/donators. It's actually how you lose them.]

But barely anyone watches those programs. They'd be more likely to get pledges during the Masterpiece Theater presentation.

I know, no one I know every watches those third rate programs. And for years I never ever saw the last episode of This Old House because they'd run a pledge drive right when that episode would be shown. So I just gave up watching it.

Can't say I blame you. They usually do their pledge drives during the summer months. And pick third rate programs - because they can get cheap CDS to give to their donators.

But I think it is counterproductive in a way. A far smarter method would be to show the Escapist or This Old House, then do a break in the middle with the plea for donations, then continue. Sort of like commercial television handles it.
