Where there is no disease, people make lovely tasty treats, have tea parties on a beautiful big lawn, help each other, and are exceedingly kind, while making jokes. Even though it's a competition, everyone is exceedingly kind, the losers are hugged and comforted, the winners get kisses and flowers and a cake platform. There's a bit tea party on grassy lawn. No sexism, no racism, no prejudice, no homophobia, no xenophobia...and the worst that can happen might be a gentle rain or cake disaster.
2. What are five comfort television shows?
* Great British Bake-Off
* Mozart in the Jungle
* This is Us
* The Gilmore Girls
* Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Date: 2017-09-10 02:20 am (UTC)I just find food preparation shows comforting. It may just remind me of watching my mom and grandmother cook in the kitchen, both enjoyed cooking and baking things, and were good at it. ( I do not watch any other reality shows, because the interviews drive me insane as does the competition. Although I did watch Trading Spaces for a bit (before it got successful), Project Runway (ditto), and tried American Idol, The Voice, and Dancing with the Stars( but the format and the interviews drove me nuts.) Not a fan of competition. I find most competitions anxiety inducing. Because my heart hurts for the loser, and in most of them, the winner acts like ass. But British Baking Show seems to be the anti-competition. Everyone is so nice and kind. It's amazing.)
Another really comforting Food Show was Two Fat Ladies. Hard to find. It ended in the 1990s. Both women are dead now.
