Fall TV Season and other things...

1. Finished watching Kinky Boots on Broadway HD, and...it's okay. No memorable songs. I did like the message, and the actor who played Lola/Simon was amazing. He basically made the show -- whenever he was on - it was good. Unfortunately none of the other performances or characters matched him.
What I found interesting about it -- is it makes a strong point about how heterosexual men can love wearing women's attire, high heels etc, just as heterosexual women may prefer male attire. This is true. I remember being annoyed when my niece told me she was glad she was a girl because she could wear dresses, my response was -- well no, so can boys. I've met several. My sister-in-law and brother aren't quite as progressive as they think.
I honestly don't know why we can't wear whatever we're most comfortable in. I hate to dresses and high heels - I find them restricting and uncomfortable, can't move in them. Also skirts -- make me uncomfortable. But I've met men who like to wear them, and women. More power to them. Just as long I don't have to. Also not into jewelry, never really understood the point of it. It's pretty - but it gets in my way. I only like earrings, which I can for the most part forget about. Also, you have to have a place to put them.
And in regards to shoes? I'd be happy if I could go barefoot or just wear socks. Never been much of a fan of shoes. Very confining. But the boots in this show are sort of cool.
2. It's pretty here, apparently raining south of here -- and we may get rain from Dorian later in the week. Mother is packing up their papers and stuff, in case they have to evacuate. They don't know what the Hurricane is going to do. Right now it's predicted to hit the Bahamas on Sunday or Monday, they sort of hug the coast and make land fall in Wilmington, North Carolina -- which is bad news for islands on the outer banks and Hilton Head.
Damn. Oh well nothing I can do about it. My mother's not that worried. She said they'll most likely evacuate up to Charlot. The place they reside in -- takes care of the evacuation. They don't have to do anything but show up with their important papers and luggage.

Five Day Biz Fix (CNBC, new docuseries; working title)
The Deed: Chicago (CNBC, new docuseries)

Fastest Car (Netflix, Season 2)

Bob ♥ Abishola (CBS, new comedy series)
All Rise (CBS, new drama series)
Bull (CBS, Season 3)
The Voice (NBC, Season 17) - both gave me a headache. The Voice -- because too much talking and bickering, and Bull -- well I hated the lead, fictional and otherwise. (I've never been a fan of Weatherly, and I hate the person who the show is based on -- Dr. Phil. I still haven't forgiven Oprah for inflicting him on the world.)
Bluff City Law (NBC, new drama series)
9-1-1 (Fox, Season 3) -- love. Sort of Tarantino with happy thoughts.
Prodigal Son (Fox, new drama series)
The Price Is Right (CBS, Season 47)
Let’s Make a Deal (CBS, Season 11)
Someone You Thought You Knew (Investigation Discovery, new true-crime docuseries)
September 24:
The Conners (ABC, Season 2)
Bless This Mess (ABC, Season 2) -- tried, but the characters annoyed me.
Mixed-ish (ABC, new comedy series)
Black-ish (ABC, Season 6) -- the comedy is too broad for my taste.
Emergence (ABC, new drama series)
NCIS (CBS, Season 17)
FBI (CBS, Season X2) -- not a fan of procedurals.
NCIS: New Orleans (CBS, Season 6)
This Is Us (NBC, Season 3)
New Amsterdam (NBC, Season 2) - where I find out if they killed my favorite character played by Freema A. (Martha Jones of Doctor Who, at least Doctor Who didn't kill her off.)
The Resident (Fox, Season 3)
Empire (Fox, Season 6; final season) -- gave up on both, because they made me want to throw things at the tv set -- and I don't want to destroy the tv set.
September 25:
The Goldbergs (ABC, Season 6)
Schooled (ABC, Season 2)
Modern Family (ABC, Season 11; final season) -- documentary style humor doesn't work for me.
Single Parents (ABC, Season 2)
Stumptown (ABC, new drama series)- based on a graphic novel. The clips on ABC look really good. I've been seeing them all summer -- to the point that I have it memorized. I can't avoid them, they are about five minutes before the show, I fast-forward and lose five minutes of the show I'm watching.
Survivor (CBS, Season 38) -- ages ages ago, as in back in the early 00s.
Chicago Med (NBC, Season 5)
Chicago Fire (NBC, Season 8) -- couldn't get into the characters.
Chicago P.D. (NBC, Season 7)
The Masked Singer (Fox, Season 2) -- didn't work for me.
Glitch (Netflix, Season 3)
South Park (Comedy Central, Season 23) -- amazed it is still on. I stopped about ten years ago.
Crank Yankers (Comedy Central, comedy series revival) - I think this is about people who make crank calls, and then recreate it with puppets for laughs? It's the sort of comedy that annoys me and makes me misanthropic. Didn't help that I met one of them at a dinner party.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FX, Season 14)
Cake (FX, new shortform comedy series)
Behind the Glass: Philadelphia Flyers Training Camp (NHL Network, Season 2)
Liza on Demand (YouTube, Season 2)
September 26:
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC, Season 16)
A Million Little Things (ABC, Season 2) -- although on the fence, we'll see. The characters of A Million Little Things are very whiny, and very privileged. It's sort of a millenial take on 30 something...which doesn't quite work.
How to Get Away with Murder (ABC, Season 6) -- couldn't get into it, but may watch on streaming at some point. Don't know yet. I didn't like any of the characters.
Young Sheldon (CBS, Season 3)
The Unicorn (CBS, new comedy series) -- it stars Walter Goggins in a family dramedy. I like the cast and the set-up looks interesting. About a widower with several kids, struggling to date again.
Mom (CBS, Season 7)
Carol’s Second Act (CBS, new comedy series)
Evil (CBS, new drama series) -- both look intriguing for different reasons. The King's tend to be political satirists, so not sure what to make of their new series Evil. Just the title indicates that this shouldn't be taken too seriously. Carol's Second Act is about a forty-something woman doing a residency, which I find interesting, plus Kyle McLachlan plays a love interest.
Superstore (NBC, Season 5) -- as you can see, it's rare that situation comedies work for me.
Perfect Harmony (NBC, new comedy series)
The Good Place (NBC, Season 4; final season) -- the one's that do, usually are a bit odd, witty, and don't last as long.
Sunnyside (NBC, new comedy series)
Law & Order SVU (NBC, Season 21)
Thursday Night Football Pregame Show (Fox, season premiere)
Thursday Night Football (NFL Network/Fox/Amazon Prime, Season 14; simulcast season premiere)

Magnum P.I. (CBS, Season 2)
Blue Bloods (CBS, Season 10)
Dateline (NBC, Season 28)
Transparent Musicale Finale (Amazon Prime, series-finale movie) -- Hmm, I might try it, if I can do it without watching the series?
The Politician (Netflix, new comedy series) -- curious about this one. This is the Ryan Murphy political satire in High School, starring Gwenyth Paltrow.
September 28:
Saturday Night Live (NBC, Season 45) -- I jump in and out of it. Not a huge fan of sketch comedy or improv.
48 Hours (CBS, Season 32)
Dr. Oakley, Yukon Vet ER (Nat Geo Wild, Season 7)
September 29:
America’s Funniest Home Videos (ABC, Season 30) -- stopped over twenty years ago.
Shark Tank (ABC, Season 11)
The Rookie (ABC, Season 2)

Godfather of Harlem (Epix, new drama series)
Robot Chicken (Adult Swim, Season 10)
Poldark (PBS, Season 5; final season)
The Durrells in Corfu (PBS, Season 4; final season) -- Although I may try Poldark's final season. I stopped after S2 or midway in S2. Because I wanted to throw things at my tv set.

September 25:
The Goldbergs (ABC, Season 6)
Schooled (ABC, Season 2)
Stumptown (ABC, new drama series)- based on a graphic novel. The clips on ABC look really good. I've been seeing them all summer -- to the point that I have it memorized. I can't avoid them, they are about five minutes before the show, I fast-forward and lose five minutes of the show I'm watching.

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC, Season 16)
A Million Little Things (ABC, Season 2) -- although on the fence, we'll see. The characters of A Million Little Things are very whiny, and very privileged. It's sort of a millenial take on 30 something...which doesn't quite work.
The Unicorn (CBS, new comedy series) -- it stars Walter Goggins in a family dramedy. I like the cast and the set-up looks interesting. About a widower with several kids, struggling to date again.
Perfect Harmony (NBC, new comedy series)
The Good Place (NBC, Season 4; final season) -- the one's that do, usually are a bit odd, witty, and don't last as long.

Dateline (NBC, Season 28)
Transparent Musicale Finale (Amazon Prime, series-finale movie) -- Hmm, I might try it, if I can do it without watching the series?
