As you said--terrible movie, great song!

***************

In this morning's edition of his column, "The Number Ones," critic Tom Breihan celebrated Tina Turner's triumphant comeback with her 1984 #1 hit, "What's Love Got to Do with It?"

It's almost impossible to pick one song for a force of nature like Tina. She's the Acid Queen, Auntie Entity, or just Anna Mae Bullock from Nutbush.

But let's go with the obvious:

The CCR version--and yes, it's a Fogerty original--is a leisurely trip down the Mississippi in a riverboat. It's got a relaxed mid-tempo groove, always pleasant to the ears...

Tina just blows that shit up. "I never do things nice and easy...I always do things nice and ROUGH."

Oh yes.

Bowie and Tina LOVED each other.
