The prompt is An animated/cartoon film or television series that is horror, which you'd recommend

I'm going with a little known Tim Burton film that hasn't been selected to date...

I saw it, I just can't remember it. Which may well be why it hasn't been selected to date.

One of my favorite Burton movies!

One of the storyboard artists on Corpse Bride was British animator Chris Butler, who subsequently signed on to Laika Studios, the current state of the art in stop motion toons.

Butler supervised the storyboards for Coraline, then wrote and directed:

ParaNorman (2012), a kid friendly stop motion ghost story overflowing with imaginative visual touches... and not a bad comedy, either:

The stop motion stuff is rather incredible. I liked Coraline a bit better.

ParaNorman looks really good. I haven't seen that one. Is it available anywhere?

Unfortunately, ParaNorman is only streaming on YouTube for $2.99.

It's not quite as smart and sophisticated as Coraline (Gaiman is hard to beat as source material); it feels like Goonies, with ghosts instead of pirates. But the movie gains power towards the end, and it really is beautifully made.

Eh, don't have Youtube streaming on my television. And I don't watch television on my 13 inch lap-top unless absolutely necessary.

And I'm not going to pay to watch television on my laptop.

Gotta draw the line somewhere. I also refuse to get CBS All Access and HBO Max. Although I may at some point trade up from HBO Now to HBO Max.

Agreed - Gaiman is hard to beat.
