Tried to do a walk - but it was bloody cold. So did a really short one. Warmer yesterday - kind of annoyed wasn't warmer and sunnier today, and colder and more overcast yesterday - but what can one do.

So, walked around the block and came back. At some point, I'll wander back to the park and around the lake there. Check out the new Flatbush entrances.

Quiet day for the most part. Watched television, slept late, and checked the media. Then talked to mother, and Wales. Mother is doing fine - better than expected. Due to all the time she was assisting my father, her arms are really strong. The room is pretty much standard - but she's had several friends offer to help her with the laundry and anything else she needs. Apparently they don't do personal laundry at the facility. Which I found mind boggling, but okay. And Aunt K brought her what she needed, and ran all the necessary errands. Also, Aunt K got the flowers I sent - which arrived in a basket. She has a cooler to take them home in. So hopefully they'll last. (Next time - I'll wait and send them to Florida.)

Wales ...sigh, is in rant mode. Her family and work place are Trump Supporters, and she doesn't understand them and can't stop raging and ranting and obsessing about all of it. I finally cut off the phone call.
It's the rage - it can consume and it destroys all in its path. Listening to her - made me realize that it is best to back away from all of it. It's not within my control, nor my hands. I have to have faith that my elected representatives will work it out and well, it's in the Universe's hands. Isn't it?

End of a difficult week. And today, I just relaxed. Too cold to walk. So watched bad television shows. Fiddled on the net briefly, and dear god, apparently one of those idiots who invaded the Capital - tazed his balls and gave himself a heart attack. He had high blood pressure and went in there.

Twitter -

Barb - He tazed his balls and gave himself a heart attack.
Ed - Is that even possible? Seriously, I'd like to know how one even does that.
Jen - Is this even true, I thought it was a joke?
Barb - yes it is true. He fried his balls and had a heart-attack.
kat - he had one of the guns down his pants, and voila.
Ed - most have really wobbly balls.

LMAO.

Someone else - "This man died and you are laughing about it."

Hello, morbid sense of humor. And, if you watch the video...on youtube that one of the insurrectionists took (I tried watching and gave up and can't find the link) - you'll pick up on the following:

* Unlike the Black Lives Matter Protests which were peaceful for the most part except for the cops beating up the protestors and the white supremacists macing them and throwing maltov cocktails, there were no cops arresting or stopping the insurrectionists. Actually they assisted them.

* Everyone who invaded the Capital was White, actually I'd say white trash. They looked like the cast of Duck Dynasty or Dukes of Hazard.

It made it clear to me that these people are racist bigots. And so are many of the people in the police and military, which is why they got in. They wanted to do more damage - their intent was to take hostages, and overthrow the government, with Trump declaring a military state. But it blew up in their faces. They are planning another one on January 19th - when the Nation is doing a day of mourning for the 360,000 plus who died. That's what I can't get over - while the Biden/Harris administration is planning a day of mourning and memorial service for the 360,000 plus people who died of the virus under Trump's watch, Trump plotted more death, destruction, and desecration. He and his adminstration should be tarred and feathered and ridden out of town on a rail - I think we should go old school on their asses and take a page out of Mark Twain. That's what they used to do to con men and bad politicians.

Needless to say, I don't care about the protestors who died. They got Darwin Awards. Congrats. Note - the BLM protestors didn't trample each other, shoot each other, or taze themselves. Nor did the Women's March.

Also my pals on FB are posting when each of the fools who invaded the Capital building get arrested and charged. They've gotten quite a few of them. (It's not that hard to find the idiots - they all posted selfies on social media - so their co-workers, neighbors, family members, etc are identifying them and sending the information out. After that happens, they are fired, then arrested by the FBI. The charges are pretty bad. And yes, the death penalty is still a viable option in DC. The Republicans made sure the death penalty remained. )

The Mayor? That new Ted Danson thing - eh, it's not watchable at the moment. Sorry, Danson. I can't watch an old white billionaire businessman who knows zip about running a city play Mayor in a post-covid LA. Not when I know LA is overwhelmed. Also you had a lot of people in some of those scenes and I found it hard to watch. Television shows that reference COVID in any way are jarring me.

Also Tina Fey's humor doesn't work for me. It made me miss Cheers and The Good Place.

I'm also watching After and After We Collided - two New Adult Romances and embrace some cliche tropes pretty heavily. So my attention keeps drifting. But they are nice and bland, and I want nice bland romantic escapism. I tried to watch Sabrina S3 - made it two episodes in. Not sure if I'll make it much further - I kind of rooting for the wrong people? I am rooting for Blackwood, Lucifer, and Madam Satan in S3. Sabrina and her Aunts are irritating me. I do not understand her friends - I'd have run in the opposite direction by now. Maybe they've decided it's the lesser of two evils?

End of a bad week. I am hoping the next one is better.

I was wondering about this because, while there were a lot of people, it wasn't like over 10,000. So I was wondering how there could have been so many non-violent deaths? It makes me wonder how many is typical for other mass gatherings.
