Back...sort of

I'm back. Sort of. Both online and in NYC.
For better or worse.

Trip was wonderful, despite the chest cold I caught on the plane ride to Hilton Head. Just about over it now. I hope to do a couple of live journal musings on the trip, not on the cold. The trip to and from Hilton Head was stress free, as was most of the visit, outside of the chest cold.

While I'm happy to be back - and home. Part of me misses the safe comfort of my parent's home. ( Especially after coming home to a bunch of wrong numbers and threatening calls on my answering machine )

Took an extended break from the internet. The first since 2001. I honestly don't think I've been off the net more than 24 hours since 2001. So I decided to go two weeks. Get my head clear, focus on other things. Such as learning how to play Dominoes, visiting the Georgia Islands, seeing Return of The King, reading, and walking beaches and forests. I think it worked. Feeling more positive about the job search thing. Also really happy to be back, so I can reconnect with some of my NY-based online and offline friends. I missed them.My friends were the best things about 2003.

Book Sampling (first of several musings on my vacation)

While in Hilton Head, sitting on plush white couch, in front of a roaring fire with Old English Christmas tunes playing in the background -- I sampled from my parents vast collection of books. I always do this when I visit my folks. ( somewhat long-winded bit about my family and book collecting )
