Dec. 6th, 2011 10:00 pm1. Betty Crocker: Do not Eat Raw Cookie Dough.
Me: Yeah, right. If Rocky can drink raw eggs, I can eat raw cookie dough.
By the way Betty Crocker makes the best make your own Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies on the planet. And yes, I'm an expert. The best already made/baked Gluten Free Cookies are Tates - amazing. Not sure how good their non-gluten free cookies are.
2. I've been given mixed reviews on Neverland. The Momster liked it - reminds her of Harry Potter or Merlin. Co-worker did not. Any other comments?
3. The Hating Game (it's the name of romantic comedy, believe it or not)- which it turns out is by a Canadian novelist living in London, is rather funny.
Mattie to Bachelor #2: What is your favorite piece of female lingeri for a woman to wear?
Bachelor #2: What is this lingeri? Is it some type of food?
It really is a satire. And unlike the other books I've read quite subversive. Feels like the Devil Wears Prada meets well Bridget Jones on the Dating Game by way of Monty Python. I've come to the conclusion that the Canadians and Brits are better at witty rom-com's than the Americans are. Or at the very least satire. The US does satire - we get Glee and Knocked Up. The Brits do satire - and we get Monty Python and Bridget Jones Diary. Who would you rather sit in a room and chat with John Cleese or Ryan Murphy - or go out on a date with Colin Firth or Seth Rogan? (Personally? John Cleese and Colin Firth. The other two creep me out.)
4. Speaking of Glee...tonight's episode was better, but it was also mostly about sectionals and the musical numbers weren't focused on romantic relationships.
See? Focus on just the dancing and singing - all is well. More music less talking.
Rather liked the tribute to Michael Jackson. Particularly the finale sectionals number - "Man in the Mirror" - which is an incredibly powerful song. As controversial as Michael Jackson was regarding his bizarre personal life, you can't ignore what an amazingly talented artist and performer he was. Not to mention ground-breaking. Incredibly Talented people/entertainers aren't necessarily people I want to know that much about or meet in person. They tend to be train wrecks. Although admittedly, not boring.
Off to read. Have too many shows on the DVR, should be watching them. But...just don't feel like watching tv lately...I don't know why. Outside of The Good Wife and Once Upon a Time - nothing's holding my interest. Very odd. Is it possible I burned myself out? Watched too many tv shows? Nah.
