Tomorrow around 2:45 or thereabouts - I'm off to the beach. Rustic Davis Park on Fire Island, where kid bro owns a beach house that he had built out there. Parents are up visiting.

There is no internet access. So I will be off line. Which is a good thing. I need to get away from the computer.

Taking Monday off. Wish I could take more time. I desperately need a breather from work.
It's making me crazy. As you've no doubt surmised from my posts of the last six months.

Off to make something for dinner. And maybe more wine. Work has driven me back to drinking.
Damn. Need to start swimming instead. Probably sleep better.

1. I suck at packing. I'm only going to be at Fire Island two days, so why did I pack for four? Because I have no idea what the weather is like out there. Kid bro told me to bring sweatshirt, Momster said she hasn't needed one. I don't know what to do. And I live in NYC, and on the island. Just the weather is funky on the island. Checked the weather. It's mild, 80s and 70s at night. And even since I turned 43, I found myself with an internal heater. I only need a sweatshirt when it dips below 60 degrees. Kidbro has no fat on him. He's 6'5 and 165 pounds. Also no gray hair. Life ain't fair.

Plan on staying until Monday, and leaving Monday afternoon. Takes about 2-3 hours give or take. May leave on Sunday. Playing by ear.

2. Tired. Jumped briefly on Good Reads. It never fails to astonish me how much people like to rant and whine about books or tv shows or films that they hated. The internet has turned us all into bad amateur critics. So...can you claim a book, tv show or film is badly written, when you, yourself, write even worse than the book, tv show or film you claim to criticize? While I understood 50 Shades (it has a Pretty Woman vibe which apparently pisses off some people), Great Gatsby and Hunger Games bewildered me. I may be wrong about this - but I'm starting to think 90% of Good Reads is teenagers and undergrad kids with zip to do.

3. Watching the female gymnastics at the moment. Everyone this year keeps making mistakes.
It's sad. And the commentators always state: "We haven't seen this in months from her, this is sooo rare."

They are showing the other countries...but they always do. Still finding the coverage choppier than usual. But I admittedly am not watching the Olympics that often.
Also watching a lot of swimming...which makes me nostalgic. I love swimming. Favorite sport.

4. Niece is watching Mary Tyler Moore on Hulu. I find this amusing. She's watching all the shows I did in reruns as a kid. Well not all of them, they haven't introduced her to the cult stuff such as The Monkees, Kimba, HnR Puff in Stuff, and Doctor Who.

I'm bringing mad libs, a fortune telling paper thingy (it's the thing that is in the credits of the sitcom Community - if you watch Community you know what I'm talking about),
and Clive Barker's Kid Book - Arabat, which has pics. Also fruit. Have to remember to buy fruit either on way to work, at lunch or on the way to Fire Island. They want fruit. Apparently there is crappy fruit on the island. But hey, they have a liquor store.

Flist is behind...found the latest Doctor Who S7 Trailer on my Facebook Page from a surprising source.

Doctor Who S7 looks really good. Was worried we wouldn't see Doctor Song. But we will!
