Well, the Emmys are making me want to check out "Black Mirror" and "Godless".

So far what's won is Marvelous Mrs. Maizel, Godless, and Black Mirror. Which is interesting. It's all Amazon and Netflix. Hee Hee.

Slogging my way through Illona Andrews Iron & Magic. To be honest, I'm more interested in slogging my way through the seemingly endless novel that I'm writing. But I did read more today than usual. Also slept on the commute home...so there's that.

I'm beginning to fangirl another female star of The Good Place (which I haven't quite forgiven the Emmy's for ignoring, although on the other hand...I don't really take awards shows all that seriously -- mainly because it's impossible to choose between works of art, and highly subjective.) I certainly couldn't tell you if I preferred Marvelous Mrs. Maizel or The Good Place.) Why? See youtube video interview...

I did like the joke about how a situation comedy was basically a drama that was only thirty minutes long. Other than that, it's not that entertaining. Not sure why it's on Monday, wasn't it supposed to be on Sunday? Also why did they put Poldark and The Minaturist on Monday not Sunday? I'm confused. Not that I'd have watched any of the above on Sunday, I'm not really watching have of them now.

We'll see how many of these new television shows and returning ones that I actually watch. I'm finding myself jumping more and more to Netflix. It's easier to watch and I can watch shows pretty much whenever.

Going to attempt to go to bed at 10 tonight not 11:00 and read a bit.

ETA: Uhm this has to be first, (or maybe not...saw others have done it at various points), an Emmy winner proposed while accepting his award to his long-time girlfriend, who was, understandably overwhelmed.

(I'm sorry if someone did that to me, I'd murder them. Would wait until we got home to do it. Obviously.)
