2. Went to the Tolkien Exhibit at the Morgan today... Is it worth it? ( Read more... )
Afterwards journeyed back home and picked up a slice of Flourless Chocolate Cake, with rasberry sauce and whipped cream, caramel and dark chocolate drizzled popcorn from the local chocolatier, and some fish, filet mignon, etc from the grocery store.
Also a little wine.
Having red snapper tonight, with seasonings, olive oil and lemon, along with broccoli, cauliflower and yellow summer squash. Red onion on top. (Hmm...liked the veggies better than the snapper.) With sparkling white wine, and a chocolate covered marshmellow bunny rabbit for desert.
It was a lovely and relaxing day, not too cold, sunny, and I didn't have to think. (I really needed a day away from work.)
Tomorrow going to the Rubin with Wales. Wales is actually fun to go to art museums with -- she's a former art history major turned legal secretary. Knows a lot about art.
4. Finished that sci-fi romance novel (which is the Smart Bitches book club selection) that I was talking about -- it wasn't very good. Sort of boring actually.
I did a lot of skimming.
Am considering borrowing Simillarion from the Brooklyn Library, as opposed to buying it. I really don't need any more books. Have far too many as it is, and no room for more. Even the basement of my building doesn't have room for more books. I suppose it's a good thing to have too many books? If you are a book-a-holic who loves books, which I am, probably. My dream growing up was to be surrounded by unlimited reading choices -- guess what, I've achieved that.
Did pick up three new comics and a romance -( Read more... )
3. Taking a pseudo break from the computer this weekend. Not reading as much. And spending less time on it. I think I need to do that more.
Oh, and The Favorite finally became available "On Demand" - definitely renting that this weekend. Meanwhile, I need to figure out how to cancel Hulu on the firestick and grab CBS All Access -- which has more series I'm interested in.
