Okay, I'm going to repeat three rules for this rec challenge:

1. Don't pick a television show you've already selected in another category.

2. Don't pick a television show that someone else already posted or pick in that category. You can however pick one that they picked in another category. (ie. If A picks Parks & Recreation in Day 1, B can pick it in Day 5, but A&B can't both pick it in Day 5.)

The point of this is to rec a broad range of shows.

3. Do not choose two different television shows in a category - unless otherwise notified. There are a few categories that picking two different television shows may be required.

If you don't like the rules? You can do your own meme. My journal, my rules. (I don't control much at the moment - but I can try to control this or at least try to - telling other people what to do is akin to talking to cats. I told that to my mother once... "Do you have something against cats?" So, uh, no offense to cats intended.]

This is Day #6 of the 30 Day Television Challenge

The prompt for this one shouldn't be a problem regarding the rules..posted above.

A talk show, variety show, or stand-up comedy show (old or new)

Hmm...before John Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, David Letterman and Conan O'Brien there was...

I watched at more than one sleep over as a kid - it was considered a special treat to stay up late and watch the Tonight Show, right before the network sign off - which was the pledge of allegiance and then static. That didn't change until the advent of cable in the 1980s.

I remember watching the last episode of the Tonight Show with my brother's best friend one night. We looked at each when it was done, nodded and said good night. He's now the head of the Kansas City Art Institute Animation Department.

Weirdly I watch very little of it now. Possibly with all the cable shows, and the overabundance of information - the talk shows have lost their appeal. I don't know.

This is Day #2 of the 30 Day Halloween Challenge

The prompt is... A favorite female or male actor that you enjoy in horror films or television series

Hmmm... this is harder than I thought.

Well, I don't really have one that has translated well in more than one television series that I'd consider horror...no wait, there is one.

I'm going with...Bruce Campbell.

I took a walk around the cemetery around 2 pm. It was an hour and a half, roughly 2.7 miles. I was tired so couldn't get up the energy for more than that. Also, I had stop by the pharmacy for the diabetic meds. Another huge pill. I keep adding meds to my collection. I swear you get older - you start funding the pharmaceuticals. Or your insurance does. If I lose my insurance, I'm dead.

Also a mite chilly - in the mid sixties. So I put on a jacket. Got hot. Took it off. Got cold - put it back on. Decided next time to wear a long sleeve shirt or a sweater. There were guys wandering about sleeveless.

And I had a chat with Gabe via text message. Apparently NY has Home COVID Kits now - you can get one, get tested, send it back, and get results within two to three business days. They've been available for a while now. You just need to show that you've been exposed to the virus to get one. (I haven't so couldn't. )

Well, as you've most likely heard by now, the thing in the white house finally contracted COVID, it was only a matter of time. They are treating him with the antibody experimental treatment that has been used with mixed results. He's in the high risk category. 74, heart disease, high cholestrol, not enough exercise, obese.

Also the idiot refused to wear a mask.

This feels weirdly karmic or falling on the opposite side of the argument. Which we all do eventually.

New York vs. the Corona Virus

New York is panicking - it's viral rate is slowly inclining again. It's slightly above 1%.

The Commissioner of Health will issue a Section 16 order to local governments in hotspot areas setting specific consequences for failure to enforce State regulations related to social distancing, mask compliance, and capacity limitations. We need local governments to enforce health regulations to stop the spread of COVID-19 in clusters — it is their duty and legal obligation. This new order establishes a framework for reporting their enforcement activities and sets consequences for failure to enforce the emergency regulations. Failure to comply by localities can result in penalties up to $10,000 per day. - So are they really going to charge Brooklyn $10,000 a day for failing to enforce the mask wearing in its area, and how is it supposed to do so? Inquiring minds want to know? This worries me a little...because I'm not certain I want martial law. Idiots - wear masks.

2. We are closely monitoring New York's infection rate. Yesterday, there were 648 total hospitalizations. Of the 119,493 tests reported yesterday, 1,598, or 1.34 percent, were positive. 429 of these positives were from the 20 'hotspot' ZIP codes. Sadly, we lost seven New Yorkers to the virus.
[Yep, they are getting worried...it's going up. But they are also testing more people than before. What I want to know is how do they know that they aren't just testing the same ones over and over again, and adding a few along the way?]

3. Download the COVID Alert NY app today. Yesterday, New York launched a new Exposure Notification App so New Yorkers can help stop the spread of COVID-19 and receive exposure alert notifications without compromising privacy or personal information. Click here to download it directly to your iPhone. Click here to download it directly to your Android device. Did that yesterday. We'll see if it works.

4. 27 percent of all positive cases yesterday were only from 20 hotspot ZIP codes. The Department of Health will have people on the ground in the hotspot ZIP codes today, including in Orange County, Rockland County, New York City and a small area in Nassau County.
[Which are surrounding me but all about twenty to thirty blocks away.]
