Reporting live from epidemic central again - apparently Southern Brooklyn is the "COVID Cluster", so too is Southern Queens, and Rockland County and Orange County, and Broom County...so it's nice not to be alone, I suppose.
New York vs. the Corona VirusThe Governor was doing another live briefing today.
Reporter: So if someone is walking down the street without a mask do they get a warning?
Governor: No, they get a ticket and they are fined. Warnings lets them get away with it. They know they have to wear a mask. It's impossible not to know. If a police officer sees you walking down the street without a mask, they should fine you.
Reporter:Isn't that a little extreme?
Governor: No. It is a law. We have to enforce the law. Laws have no power if they are not enforced. You haven't been enforcing the law.
The Governor is fed up. I don't blame him - I'm fed up with the maskless wonders.
( Read more... )And of course it's fall, so my allergies are kind of here. I get a dry cough at various point - due to allergies.
The testing place that is about mile and a half walk from my home, apparently had a line down the block. You can walk in without a screening - and get a free test, also a rapid test and a regular one, at any time. I may try it out in the coming weeks. Don't know. I'm worried about getting the virus waiting in line for the test - I've no symptoms to speak of, outside of pesky allergies.
Laundry room went through an upgrade. There's a sign now on the dryer telling people to wear a mask. More people are wearing them - and I'm not having to fight people about riding the elevator solo. I just kindly state - "can only do one person because of COVID" and they back off.

Also...it's cooler now, so I could turn off the AC and open up a window.
Another picture from yesterday's walk around the graveyard. I did laundry tonight - and the laundry room was blessedly empty for once. So, not as anxiety inducing.
